A new HDD wouldn't help if it is somehow a firmware issue. But ya maybe its fried but I doubt the game could cause that.My PS3 was working fine until FF14 was installed all started with a few freeze's here and there and gradually became unplayable and now PS3 wont load.........( I even checked before by playing a different game which ran fine no freez's etc for a good 2 hours but as soon as i switched back to FF14 ..... 15 mins later freeze again....... I dont see how a factory restore would help as I have installed a new HDD but still PS3 wont load....
I left the FFXIV on overnight and had no issues what so ever. I think you had a failing system and this is a far fetched ploy to get a new one from a software company. Contact Sony as they are the only one who can help you.

You can play with a gamepad on the PC version too. With PS4 around the corner , im really in no mood to spend money on PS3 when i know I will be buying the PS4 as soon as it comes out.
I'm thinking of getting the PC version as it will be cheaper to buy a game than a console but love the feeling of playing on control pad.

You can even use your ps3 controller on the PC with the right drivers.
It sounds like your PS3 was on it's last legs to begin with. I can count on one hand the number of freezes I've had with FFXIV. I've had plenty of issues, but that ain't one.
Your ps3 went to crap because it was already on its way out.
Lawsuit? GL

FFXIV is actually the most stable game I've played on the PS3. Game all day, not a single freeze. It's only ever happened once, and that was during phase 3 beta.
I think your PS3, like others have mentioned, was probably on its way out to begin with. It just so happens you were running ARR when it did.
o.O can you ? do i have t install a 3rd party software or has game already got a gamepad option ?

The only software you would need are the drivers. If you want to use your ps3 controller you would have to find the drivers for it online..its a little tricky to setup as the ps3 controller wasnt intended to be used this way but it can be done.

Oh and it would have to be plugged in to the USB..definitely can't hook it up witelessly
