1.0 Character Recreation issues.

Good Morning,

I'm just reposting some information that had been mentioned by several in the Beta Forums in regards to the recreation of 1.0 characters as we never did get any clear answer on what we would need to do.

I myself, during Phase 4, botched up the recreation of my 1.0 character. I did get the character design correct but class/starting city got messed up (which I understand is a minor issue compared to some others).

Throughout the beta forums, others reported similar issues, including the recreation flag being removed due to crashes/client lock ups. Others not getting the chance to rename their characters.

I am just wondering if the team has been discussing if there will be an option or an opportunity for those who messed up their characters to get a chance to recreate them without deleting the characters they've had for up to 2yrs.

I myself have submitted a support report in regards to this. Is this the correct procedure?

Any information would be welcomed.

I had the same issue. I cant play Conjure and TBH i hate the job since i cant play it well. I can do some healing but full time aahhhh LOG OFF lol. I respect all the players that decide to play a healing job. /bow to you all that been said during the recreation of my 1.0 sexy beast. I wanted to play ARCANIST and end up in freaking Gridania as conjure and my character design was not what I build on the benchmark. PLEASE ALLOW US TO RESET OUR CHARACTERS.

I was an unlucky person who wasn't able to change my appearance of my 1.0 character to something I had created in the benchmark program. Nor was I able to change my name, which was frustrating since I wanted to use something lore based.

Today I noticed on the launcher this snippet:

Therefore, we have decided to provide the following services.

- Provide a one-time character name change.
- Provide a one-time character appearance change.

* Please note that we will only be providing the service to those who encountered problems during the character change process.

How do I know if I'm in that select group? Do I need to report that I did somewhere?

I was one of the ones affected by the character creation screen would not let me use what I created in the benchmark program. FFXIV1 , FFXIV2, & FFXIV3 were all affected. How so we go about submitting this for the One time appearance change referenced above comment @Wyuli.?

Edit: Exactly. I was the one mostly affected in my house by the cannot import character data. I was able to use new character and import data on a mule of mine but not my legacy character. Seeing as I am using a female avatar Lord Rulkar does not seem appropriate. I guess they will open up a support ticket system in the future for this issue.

I'm not sure if we submit it as a bug somewhere? Since this was in P4 beta.
I'm guessing you no longer want to keep the name Lord Rulkar...especially if your avatar is female?

I was also frustrated by the lack of an option to import a saved character creation for use in recreating my 1.0. My friend meanwhile was unable to correct a typo in his name during the recreation process. What all do we need to do to properly report this or ensure we are able to use this one time chance?

Your starting city hardly matters...because It's not even displayed in game. What shows up is which grand company you "swear allegiance" to. That's more or less which city you are part of. If we're thinking XI terms.

Starting city is merely a place to put you when you first start the game.

Well, then there's the beginning story missions. Which is really the same in each city, just with different scenery. More or less a tutorial.

when you open the launcher there is a topic about those who missed up in creating their character due to problems encountered during the character creation.

For those who experinced issues when creating their character and could not link the character bench mark to change their V1.0 character will have the chance to re-create their character again!

I saw it, but I'm wondering if we have to somehow qualify for it. Mainly I wonder because of this line from the launcher news: Please note that we will only be providing the service to those who encountered problems during the character change process.
Would be nice to have clarification on that.

I opened a support ticket to make sure they knew I was affected. They still might come back with something official later on. I hope.
