I STILL cannot login either...I'm not starting a new character just because my realm is full. A week of free play time will not help if I still can't play a game that I purchased. -.-

Before 1017 ruled just about EVERY server. It was a legitimate concern that people could not play, anywhere. Now you are consciously making a choice not to play (as there is plenty of opportunity, but no true desire). I don't mean to nitpick, but at this point, after all the work that has just been done, you are truly reaching for a reason to fuss at them.
All hope is not lost, however, server transfer services should be coming on line in the next week or two, and I am sure there will be free transfers for world-population balancing, too.

It's rather unfair to suggest that someone should start over on another server because their main server is overcrowded. It is unfair to claim that a game is unplayable and that the extra week of time they gave you for free is not suitable compensation when the issue is they are not capitulating to the demands of every person with relatively small problems. I understand that this past week has been a disaster, and by no means am I excusing that. I also mentioned that Square Enix has already stated their intents on dealing with the overcrowding issue, back at least a week ago, by implementing a server transfer function on the mog station site. They're working on it, but to their credit, I believe the 1017 issue coupled with the instance server acting like poop were bigger concerns at the time.
