Frequently caused my memory leaks and/or driver issues. Double check your video drivers, etc. are up to date.

The beauty of buying this game is that while many of the memory leaks are fixed and it is much more stable, that doesn't do you any good unless you can launch it and update it. SE really needs to offer a downloadable version of the latest client, or at the very least the most recent launcher.

Please post your system information for us.

You can get this information by going to your start menu - programs - FFXIV - FFXIV config. Then hit the System button, and the Copy to Clipboard button at the bottom of that page.

The majority of FFXIV crashes upon game launch are due an insufficient video card, or outdated video drivers.

    Drivers from the future FTW.

Your system does meet minimum requirements, and appears to have the latest drivers. But you should uninstall your video drivers, run driversweeper, then install the latest ones for good measure.

Please describe your problem in more accurate detail. Where exactly does the game crash? At what stage in the process? The generic APPCRASH information you posted doesn't really tell us anything.

The game should have no problem running on a 64 bit version of Windows,
Maybe you had a faulty driver, that caused XIV not to work, would be worth looking into, since you just reinstalled.
I would try once more with a 64 bit installation, and see if XIV did not run if you had all up to date drivers installed.

I'm having the same problem and I suspect it's my video drivers as well. How do I find updates for them or know which drivers specifically to look for?

First you have to figure out what video card you have... follow the instructions in the 3rd post of this thread.

Then you go to the appropriate website to download drivers. AMD or Nvidia.
