Can't "click" with any class.

Has anyone else had a crap of a time trying to choose a main class? For some strange reason, none of the classes have struck me as "Yes, this is what I want to play." I've leveled nearly every class to the 20-34 range and none has really stuck out to me. Its really a strange feeling when you like the game but just can't find that class that makes you happy.

And yes I do know that you can change classes at a whim but I am the type of player who likes to have a main class. I like to focus the majority of my time on a single class although I do intend to level the rest just for convenience/cross-class skills.

Edit: Just in case someone tries to suggest a class based on my past MMO's I'll list what I played in several MMO's.

Tera Online - Berserker
Ragnarok Online - Priest (Magnus Exorcismus <3)

I hope they do as I can't find a job I like in this game. It's pretty demotivating as all my friends are running off completing their relic weapons but I feel homeless and detached from the world. It's not that any of the classes are bad, before someone leaps down my throat. Just of all of them I've tried I feel the same way as the OP stated. I haven't tried something and felt, yes this is what I want to do this is me. But I still hold out hope that my job does exist, and just hasn't been implemented yet.

You know, I'm kinda with you on this. I leveled monk in 1.23 because it was my highest class (at 16 lol) and used mnk to get through the whole 7th umbral era storyline, so it's at 50 now. But they made so many changes to how it works, that I haven't felt like taking the time to figure it out. (I know, I know, I should, but I have to do it the right way or I'll never be able to play it correctly.)

Since 2.0, I've leveled all the war/magic classes evenly to around 20, though archer is falling behind at 17. Like you, I just don't 'click' with any of them. They're all fun, and all have their own strong points, but none of them particularly appeal to me.

In all honesty, I'm thinking of finishing off my crafts to 50 and waiting for Musketeer I want my tiny Lalafell to dual wield guns and wreak unholy havoc across Eorzea. Also, it would be a perfect homage to my hero Merlwyb ^^

How I wish there was a Samurai or Ninja/Thief class. Also wish they made Paladin more Holy-esque with the healing and smiting. It just feels like a Knight class to me. =\

Not really, I am in love with Warrior, and greatly enjoy Arcanist at the moment. I'm very excited to try out Summoner! Only thing I wish is they would bring out my Musketeer that they have been promising for three years now!!! It was the whole reason I wanted to play this game and starting playing in the 1.0 alpha/beta, and I am still waiting... *sighs*

About the only game I had this feeling is GW/GW2, and seeing you played those maybe the "style" of the jobs just doesn't appeal to you. For me, I'm still sticking with Monk/WHM, just like in 1.x

Rest of the classes are just for variety for me, to have some other combat style once in a while.

Yeah I am having a hard time as well picking a class, Iv been jumping all over the place with classes and none of them don't appeal to me at all.

I feel the same as the OP. I originally started BRD, then moved to WHM, then to MRD, now I have no idea what to do. My current goal is all classes 15(only 1 more to go 3 lvls) and finally all classes to 30 for the job, that should give me the ability to be ready for any new jobs. By that time I guess id pick one and stick with it. Game just feels so watered down compared to FFXI, but i still love it nonetheless.
