Regarding Results of Maintenance (Sep. 4): Follow-up

Due to countermeasures implemented during the recent maintenance to alleviate heavy server load to the Duty Finder and Duty-related Worlds, it is now possible for the various Worlds to accommodate a greatly increased number of simultaneous user logins. Currently, the number of simultaneous logins allowed is set to a maximum of 7,500-7,800 as we carefully monitor the servers’ stability.

For this reason, we are currently implementing login restrictions any time the number of simultaneous logins exceeds the set maximum number.

We will continue real-time monitoring of the situation in an effort to provide the best possible gameplay experience for everyone.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and ask for your patience and understanding.

*Groupings are determined by balancing levels, number of people, class/jobs, and adjusted so as to help provide a smooth matching process.

Just to clarify, the 7,500-7,700 number is the max FOR NOW, until they see that it's stable enough to increase that number. And will be monitored in REAL TIME.

It's not that the update was success or fail, they just want to be sure the servers are stable BEFORE increase the max players per server.

Just throwing that out there.

Feel free to take that number and multiply it to show how many actual accounts there are. 3x? 4x? I'm guessing upwards of 2 million at this point. That's just a wild guess. My prediction: 3-4 million by the end of the year easy. Maybe more. Patch 2.1 will show where FFXIV is going and if it can carry that many ongoing.

10 days of being patient and I still can't play. Being patient at this point seems highly overrated and undeserved.

So they do a 12 hourish maintenance that was supposed to add new worlds, re-open closed worlds, and start allowing multiple char creation on single world (which I don't see how making more chars on a world matters, char has to be logged in to count).

Instead all I've read is they did something to fix the duty finder (which I had yet to have a problem with until today after they supposedly fixed it??)

How on earth have people been unable to play for up 10 or days?
I log out each time I stop playing, I'll occasionally have up to an hour or so trying to get logged in but I've managed to log a decent amount of hours since the game went live.

Are people trying one or two times, get the error and say eff it? Also the the OP, you know full well no one reads those patch notes, otherwise we'd have 1/10th of the duplicate threads we have now.

The game isnt going anywhere, patience is a good thing, being patient helps everyone from feeling this anger and frustration, why would anyone want to feel angry and frustrated is beyond me. I guess people just love being agry all the time.

I do understand how everyone feels, but being "inpatient" isn't going to make things any better other than cause unneeded fights between the "community". SE is doing their best to get everyone to play. We still don't even know the true nature of how this update went. Because right now, they are checking server stability with the allotted per server provided. Once they see the server max is stable, they will raise the max yet again.

I'm sure there something everyone could do aside from playing the game, I can't get on atm, but there is no use crying about it.

for the duty finder issue, don't they know how to prioritize problems? why focus on duty finder while customers are being rejected from the servers?

Again, SE has ruined another FF game.
