Taskbar on top of Borderless Window Mode

Because I"m in Vista, I can't use fullscreen mode because the mouse disappears. It's a problem with every Vista machine. Anyways, I'm forced to use borderless window mode if I want to see my mouse. However, my taskbar has suddenly decided to remain on top of the game. Until yesterday it was working with no taskbar visible. Anyone know how to remove the tasbar from borderless window mode? Auto-hide tasbar is not an option, it pops up at the worst times.

edit: And I messed around with the keep taskbar on top of other windows check too. No luck, the tasbar still covers my xp bar and health bars (how I set it up in hud)
