Free Company's LIMITED guild tools.

I couldn't find a good place to post this. I attempted to post it under the COMPANIES page but it keeps telling me I don't have permission so I'll put it here, I hope it gets the feedback I need.

I've been a guild leader since 1999 so I've seen guild tools be terrible throughout the years of MMOs. World of Warcraft finally got it right a couple of years ago with all the bank access and permissions and such. The absolute BEST guild tools I've seen is in D&D Neverwinter, they let you put permissions on EVERYTHING and the layouts are amazing.

That brings me to FFXIV: ARR. The guild tools start out looking great with a few customizations and permissions and such, so I started out happy and excited, that was, until I saw the FC Bank permissions...This NEEDS fixed. There are 3 settings, None(No access, no view or deposit), Leader(View ONLY, no withdraw or deposit) and Full(Just as the title says FULL, 100% no holds barred access). So either you give people JUST the ability to look at it with no way to deposit or withdraw, or you give them 100% access where they can take anything.

The problem with the above is, you have to trust people to have 100% access to your entire FC bank...you can't just permit someone to take 1 or 2 items / stacks or 1000 gil, they either have FULL access or NONE. Also, another terrible bank tool game is Tera Online, but at least members could deposit, here in FFXIV they can't even deposit which means the ONLY way around this is, someone in the guild, who you trust, will have to be a Bank Manager and tell EVERYONE to add them to your friends list and mail them ALLLLL the items you want to deposit. This will get VERY tedious and time consuming for that person.

As the leader of my FC myself I can totally agree with the above: way too limited, and not just on the FC Bank point, on a lot of other things too.

I agree. I'd rather them fix the errors than work on matters such as this, for the time being, though. Hopefully it is in patches to come.

I hear you Hoku but the problems with the servers have pretty much been solved, as far as I'm seeing. These little things need to get corrected ASAP. I know in patch 2.1 they are fixing a lot of the gold spammer problems and such, so let's get the attention of the developers to fix this as well. They also need to add to the menu in chatting, Invite to Company and Blacklist so we can easily do it.

I saw a forum/blog post somewhere that said one of the 2.1 changes would be a deposit mode so at least that's coming as well a log of who did what, but I can't find where that is to show you. Hope that at least gives you some hope though!

Lots of hope Worldofneil. The developers need to hop onto Neverwinter and just take notes of the guild tools. They are the best I've ever seen. If we had tools like that I would never complain lol.

You don't sound like a butt Kosmos, but honestly, that shows JUST a deposit feature. There are several tools that should be added. Also the ability to take out maybe 1 stack per day and such like I stated above. That's what this thread is for. I love the deposit, but what about permissions for removal as well?

I just really hope they add a few things like in chat, clicking the name with a dropdown saying "Add to...., then submenu-Company, Blacklist, Party, etc"

I'll make a new forum if I can also. I'd like to sum up the fixes to the FC tools i'd like to see fixed and I'm not the only one. So I'll start listing them because all I've seen is they're adding a deposit feature for FC Members and that's it. So here goes.

1. Make permissions for ranks to deposit and withdraw a number amount of stacks of items per day as well as a set amount of GIL.
2. Make it possible for officers to chat exclusively to other officers in the FC.
3. Add a sorting feature to the FC, like clicking the top of the Members page where the Names are for Alphabetical, Jobs, Level, Area, Etc.
4. Add an FC Information page where you can add your Vent / Mumble / RC server information, website, and other important FC details for FC Members, so we don't have to use the Company Board section for it all.

As I think of more, or people post more, I'll add it to this list so we can get every FC suggestion in one place and the Developers can fix it on the big 2.1 patch.
