I found using EVGA to tweak my card a bit, usually adjusting things slightly lower will fix the problem without having to shutdown the game.

I don't know for sure, but I think the RAM usage will vary per zone depending on how many textures/whatever it's caching for that zone (so essentially, bigger zone = more memory). Try it in an inn room and it'll probably use less, unless it still retains data from the previous zone to speed up loading of going back to that area. I haven't really done any conclusive tests though, so that's just speculation based on experience with other things.
Your screenshot shows that your entire computer is only using 35% of your total memory and FFXIV will know that too so it's not a bad thing for them to use a lot of memory to speed up their own processes as long as nothing else wants it (in which case any memory they're using for temporary "caching" they *idealy* should free it up for those other applications).
It's a 32-bit application, so it can't use more than 2GB anyway (there's ways for a 32-bit application to use more than 2GB, but that bring new issues so realistically 2GB is the limit) - Not to be confused with the 4GB limit on 32-bit operating systems, that's something else.
Since you have 8GB and even with the game running you have approximately 5.2GB free, don't worry about it![]()

I'll try that, do you have any exemple of the value you had before and after tweaking your overclocking?
I usually just adjusted the voltage down one notch and then everything ran smoothly. I have had this issue with other games and the Nvidia stock oc card I got.

What you are describing is a common nvidia driver issue they are working on fixing in upcoming driver releases. See my post here:

I wish thed's make a sticky about it. I see a post on here almost daily about the same thing.
Edit: I seem to remember someone saying you can use an overclocking program like Nvidia Inspector or MSI afterburner to lower your clock speeds and reset without restarting the game. Haven't confirmed personally.
