    Massive Memory Leak

    Oh hi,

I could connect and play, but after something like 20minutes, my game just go black for a second or two, and after that become all laggy and buggy. Its slow even on my high-end pc with a good connection, and when I looked at the memory usage on the task manager...

Here's what I got. By the time I made this screencaps, it had almost reached 750'00.

    Here's my config:
    AMD Phenom II x4 965 3.4ghz
    8gigs of ram
    Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 Ti

I never had this problem with any other game. Any of you got an idea to stop these leaks?

Uh dude... 750mb of RAM for this game is normal.

I've seen it use upwards of 1GB. If you were posting that it was trying to use 4+GB and your memory swap, I'd agree with you.... But I've kept an eye on this game now since it came out and during beta, and 500mb-1gb is average, especially depending on your graphics settings.

Video games use a lot of resources... I don't know many that don't use almost 1GB... some more.

If anything I'd be more concerned about why Firefox is using up 250mb of RAM... about 1/3rd of what your video game is. Should be more like 1/16th...

that sir is not a high end pc. check drivers and use geforce expierence. not sure if they have support for ff14 yet. more ram may be needed to many background apps running, virtual ram may be to low.

you have many duplicate apps running lots of useless apps and just plain trash, my suggestion is clean format and less porn

    715,816 KB = 699 MB = 0.68 GB

    Yeah, no. That's 750mb.

    1000k = 1mb

    so... 750,000k = 750mb.

You're fine in terms of memory.

What you should probably have done is gotten a 670 or 680...

The X50/X60 (e.g. 570/580, or 670/680) series never really run games very well unless they're in SLI - which introduces a whole slew of new problems.

The X70 and X80 type cards are the ones most serious gamers buy.

I'm running a GTX 580 and it runs this game better than my friend's 760...

    EDIT:

worldofneil is correct. It's actually 1024k = 1mb, but most people estimate unless they're actually trying to figure out an exact number for something related to programming or what not.

If you want to go all out its actually 699.0390625 MB

    Aka 0.68265533447266 GB

    EDIT2:

Also... is it just me, or does this guy have some suspecious tasks running in the background?

Flash player doesn't usually show up as FlashPlayerPlugin_11_8_800_94.exe

Usually malware likes to take the form of any exe and make it seem like its legitimately running in the background.

    I smell bigger problems

Might really be time for a format....

Thats called. Driver reset. Happends if your overclock is unstable or your graphics card is to hot.

    BUT

after the new patch some people have issues with their graphics cards. They hit the TDP and dont use full power clocks anymore.

Oh ok, I got my unit all messed up (like always), that explain a lot.
As for my card, I could have bought better, but it is a overclocked version from asus that until here, has been able to run any game at full capacity, with ENB's and Sweet FX and ambient occlusion and all at something like 60fps ~easily. So it could be far worse, but could be better yeah.
Skyrim, and the Last hitman and Tombraider are good exemples.

And I'll look into the suspicious tasks, I hadn't noticed them ! I'm also doing a full reinstall of my drivers, if that doesn't help I'll format, I had planned to do it anyway, its been a good three years since the last time.
Thank you all for your answers

Edit: My card is not hot, not that much, last time I checked it was something like... 49° while playing. As for the overclock it is quite stable, always been until here and I haven't mess with anything that I didn't know (except for my silly task manager, i'd say)

I have the same Problem it is irregular. Somtimes comes after 20min or 8hours so i dont think it is an memory problem. Easy fix is relog(haha) unfortunately you cant log in again that easy. If someone know what cause it and how to fix it i realy like to know.

Well if I find something I'll tell you. I have searched a bit and noticed other people had the same problem with the irregularities too. And yeah, relog is easier said than done for now : /
