Suggestion for new PS3 HotBar Please.

Ok this is what we have


MAKE IT SO WE HAVE THE OPTION LIKE PC USERS.

This is what we need PS3 Hotbar to look like It needs to be so when we hold L2 we have access to line 1 and R2 line 2 and then the directional pad lets us move left or right and X to chose the skill we want to use. OR have it so when we hold L2+R2 at the same time pops up another set of skills.


I'm sorry but if a change doesn't happen to the Hotbar I don't think I can keep playing this game. PC users are far superior in combat than we are, I have remembered where every skill I need to use is but sometimes in the heat of battle its hard to switch pages. I know this can be done because FFXI lets you use macros in the same way. At the very least it could be an option to use.

Are you out of your mind? Do you have any idea how slow that would be? I'm a tank. You think I have time to scroll through a hotbar and manually select abilities? This system would make the game unplayable on PS3.

Also, PC users are in no way superior in combat to me. To -you- maybe. Please speak for yourself and don't group the rest of us with you. You might be bad, but I'm not. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but you asked for it by making blanket statements about all PS3 users.

Practice. Muscle memory will form and you'll get faster with your keybinds.

I know where my skills are that's not the problem it having to many damn skills to use and switching hotbars is the part I don't like, maybe playing FFXI for 8years I'm too use to it. But they could have the option like I said so we could choose, PC users get to choose why cant PS3 users. Also I never said I was bad or sucked at my job I just don't like doing intense battles with this set up.

Also @ Ryzaerian Looking at you character your only level 31 so judging by that alone tells me you haven't played a level 50 dungeon like Amdapor Keep, also you do not yet have enough skills either from your main job or any cross class skills yet to tell me that PC users are not superior to you. IDC who you are PC users will always be superior. So when you are using around 30 skills you might change your mind.

I am loving using the controller and like it much more than mouse and keyboard. That being said I do have two minor complaints:

1. I am not a fan of moving onto the next target with a controller. I find that the game does not usually select the next closest enemy but might highlight another player instead. This can be annoying in combat but solved easily by when I press "tab" on my keyboard. Is there actually a way to target the next enemy with just a controller? I am accepting that I might just be doing something wrong.

2. I kind of wish pushing R2 and L2 at the same time would bring up a third option of abilities.

Minor things, nothing major.

Give players the choice ? Yes. Change what it is currently ? Hell no ! They did a good job and should stay like this with maybe additional keybind possibilites.

Yes add the option to use it PC users get to pick which they want why cant PS3 users? If you want to use it use, if you don't then don't, its simple but we should have the option to use it.

I'm pretty happy with it as it is. Only thing that I miss is the menu of spells and abilities like in FFXI. I did also like the macro bars from that game.

FFXIV v1.0 had a much better gamepad set up than this crossbar, or even the one that's in XI.

No, The cross hot bar allows us access to many skills with the press of one button.

Having to hold down L2 or R2 and using the D-pad to move between skills then press a button to select it will become very hectic. Ver 1.0 before auto attack was terrible.

You literally played dance dance revolution on your game pad.

L2 > Right > right > A > right > A > left > left > left > A > right > right > right > right > A > left > A > hold R2 > right > right > A > Right > A > left > A > right > right > right > A

9 SKills in 27 button presses. Do that over the course of many fights, for many hours... I prefer 9 skill activations with 9 button presses.

I'm sorry but they did an awsome job with the gamepad for this game, I am loving it and I play heals so I have to be quick and no problems at all. I also have this game on a high end gaming pc and I'm still playing it on the PS3. That says a lot!

There is a mouse mode of sorts. Puts a Mouse on your screen and it lets you click on your abilities. Personally I enjoy the cross bar.

I think crossbar already burned you mind. You didn't have to hold anything to activate the gamepad bar in v1.0, it became active as soon as you selected a monster and to change to another hotbar you had to hit up or down on the dpad. I found it faster to use and much more intuitive than the current crossbar.

EDIT: I remembered something. Chief, you're confusing the action hotbar with the macro hotbar from1.0. It's the macro hotbar you held hold L/R2 to activate in V1.0.

The action hotbar from v1.0 with the possibility to set macros on it like with the crossbar in v2.0/ARR would be awesome.
