My Frustration -- forgive me, it finally blew up.

Goodness, thank you to Neptune and ZakarnRosewood for letting me know on how to escape the character limit as well as the dreaded: New forum post cannot be made due to either you have reached to your daily limit or your main character's level is not high enough.

I honestly didn't want to have to put 8 parts of my tale through different posts, lol. That would have made quite a ballad.

Hello Adventurers, would-be adventurers, good people, bad people, lovers, haters, and lastly, the black and white knights of the forum.

I would love to ease your frustrations since I know a little bit of something about most types of errors that might help put some minds at ease. I have been doing mostly that for the past 8 days now-- replying to a whole lot of people, mostly via PM; all the while I myself have been very patient with SE and never really complaining here at the forums.

Did not send them a ticket, either. I figured that hey, there is this other guy in another part of the world that needs support as bad as I do. I feel proud of being one of the 'white knights'. Sadly my patience is waning and I am feeling that pang in my heart to rage at any moment.

Like a Christian being assaulted by a psycho-scientist with a lightning prod screaming hysterically while spit-spewing all over my face, 'Where is your God now!?' as he sticks it up my... *sigh* Truly, I am very tired. I took a leave of absence at work, filed it properly 3 months before, saved money, bought food and supplies for a whole week, I even made sure that I finished all of my work so no one would bother me. All of this so I could play this game.

You might see my level to the right as 26, but that is due to the literal 5-10 hour button mashing extravaganza to get into the servers with the occasional checks I do at the forums for error fixes brought to light by the lovely community who seem to be fixing more things than I could see from Square Enix.

I must have gone through all sorts of errors. If someone experienced it, I might have too:
Unable to patch after maintenance? YES.
Couldn't get the launcher to finish patching? Yep.
Couldn't get the launcher to log in? Yep!
Couldn't get the launcher to... launch? YES!
Error 90000? Oh, yes!
Error 2002? Ha-hah! Oui! *
Error 3102? ZOMG Yesh!
Error 30413? LOL, I had that when I was a baby.
Error 10009? Psh, dis I got!
Error 10019? Is the world round? Yes.
Error 101020? No... GOTCHA! I had you there! But yes, i got this too.
Error Mexicano!? Si Señor.

And so much more!

But even with all that, I do what is good. Because I believe in good. I log out. So that other people can log back in. This is not to jab at the people who are online AFKing, no. This is to point out that even after all of the 'hard work' I had put myself through for a mere 3-5 hour playing session, I had not complained. Nope, never did. I never sent a ticket to support either. Given the choice, I would play for 15 straight hours! But no. By that time I get in more than half of my energy is lost.

I'm the type of guy that would rather never voice his opinion against any person or group of people. I just take them as it is and learn to live with what I have; making most of it by helping other people, clowning around, and try other things that take my mind off the issue.

A good example of this is what happened on early access. I could not get into the NA/EU servers. I was able to create a character but the issues with the regional servers disappearing and all prompted me to go to JP and just make the most of my time there. I got attached to my character and decided that this is where I'll stay. Sadly, most of my "most of my time" got spent outside of the game. See what I did there? Ahahahoho Ah-hyuk! :P

But today, I just got tired. My vacation is up and I have to go back to work in 12 hours. I was looking forward to the update -- I was very hopeful that SE would be able to fix AT LEAST half of the issues I have encountered. They might have, I don't know. But one thing is for sure. I still am not able to log onto my server. I realize that SE is going to be giving out an extension of 7 days to all of the subscribers; this is good. But is it enough? At one point, I might have said yes and smiled. I would have even made it a point to combat the forces of Black Knights out there. But today, at this moment... Sauron is gripping my loyalty with a rope and beating it to submission.

I don't even know why I'm bitching now. I guess sometimes, I still need to mash some words on a computer screen to be heard and read by people who don't even know me and would probably flame me and point out my grammar lapses.

Maybe that will take my mind off the issue? Flame me oh ye pawns of Ifrit!!

Seeing as my post can is complete, I guess I'll reserve this spot for... maybe a continuation of my saga of frustration. Don't get me wrong though. I'm not junking the game. I'm just extremely peeved.

As a Leader of a Free Company / Established guild since 2006 leading a core membership of over 30 members who play nightly with me. I can't help but feel let down by SE. Throughout all of Beta, I have defended this game and its developers while remaining patient and not flaming nor posting. Explaining to all my members that this is just the growing pains a game must deal with during its launch. With each gripe a member had I would swiftly defend SE with; "Look the game has gotten more players than ever thought or dreamed of, its been a huge success in the MMO genre. SE has stated they are doing everything in their power to fix our login issues and have even set a date for this to be accomplished, 9/4. Please allow the company time to get its issues sorted out before you rage quit on me and this game"

Sadly though it is now past 9/4 and we are not only stuck with 1017 and 90k errors which still remain, we are also back to beta 4 errors of 3102. As a leader and long time loyal fan I can only give them so much at this point, as I feel The company has let me down and looked a fool among my members who I kindly asked for penitence from. I asked them to trust me as they have always done, only to be back stabbed by the the company I have put much faith in.

While the game is great once inside, the biggest boss fight everyone is having to deal with is just getting into the game. Many members including myself have spent hours upon hours of our lives spamming 0 only to be crit'ed on a load screen saying " server is full".

This is not the only struggle though, Just getting my members onto our server is also proving an issue. We as players play a game not only for the game itself but also the community which we have long built. Often times we are being faced with having to go outside of our guild to get something done, because key members are not able to either A.) Log in, B.) Not create their character on our server, Or C.) Have chosen to give up on the game completely. we as a FC wanted to take a company picture for our website, however its proved null and void since 75% of us could not be there because of one of 10+ issues. This is a problem as far as I'm concerned, because now we are split up. We are no longer the great community we once were and are being forced to recruit new members who have little loyalty to us or the game we are currently playing. I understand recruiting is a need in every game you play. What I have problems with now are the simple facts I can not play with the members we have already gained from the many years of playing together, and wanted to bring to this FFXIV:ARR with us. These are the people I WANT to be playing with, not the random person I just met shouting who only wants loots.

Yes, this may appear as a flame, though, My suggestion to the company is to offer FREE entire Guild transfers for a week off the server they are currently on to a server of their choice that is new and not full. Please do not keep Myself and my members separated like has been done for 2 weeks now,Players only keep interest for so long when the rest are out to having fun, and they are left out because they cant even create a toon with us or can't even log in.

If you edit your post after you posted it, the character limit is increased. You should be able to put it all in the OP and not have to make 8 separate posts.

I took time off for 1.0's launch and FFXI's launch, after that and getting more info about MMO launches in general, I discovered its a pretty bad idea to take time off to play the launch of an MMO. I have held off taking time to play until at least 2 months after release for several reasons.

A) the huge influx of players to the world means very crowded starting areas
B) Birthing pains of an mmo (server issues and log in troubles)
C) more info regarding the quests and such will be available as people make walkthroughs and lets plays.


Aside from log in issues, the game is great! once people are able to log in, I'm hearing of very few problems. If you are turned off because of this then, imo, its a very silly reason to drop a game for good. These issues will be sorted out. It really sucks that its happening now, I cant justify that part of it. but if you throw a game out the window for good this soon, the only one losing out is you.
