This worked for me, so thought I would share and hopefully help someone else get on.
Use these steps:
-close client
-open command prompt
-type: ipconfig /release
-press enter
-type: ipconfig /renew
-press enter
-type: ipconfig /flushdns
-press enter
-open client
-have fun

Simply restart your router. That is what I have been doing it and it works every time.

For some reason, after logging out of the game, the game retains a connection to your system. To break that connection you can simply restart your router. Release/Renew/FlushDNS might work for some that are not behind routers, but restarting the router has worked every time for me.

I tried everything listed in this thread as a suggestion and it still didn't work, will I be forced to wait?

I waited about 10 minutes and was able to log in again (I guess my character got logged out). Although, the method listed as the first post did nothing to solve my problem. I am connected to the game with PC and PS3 at the same time, if one character disconnects, it will disconnect all of my characters and won't let them log in until everyone is eventually logged out 10 minutes later.

Still getting Error 2002.

One (slightly) plausible theory ...

• The game finds each world server by a DNS record.
• The IPs of the servers changed when they were upgraded.
• Unfortunately the DNS records for the servers have some crazy high TTL.
• Your ISPs DNS cache smartly ignores SE broken settings
• Your router/PC isn't that smart and keeps trying to connect to the wrong IP

In any case, rebooting my router fixed things for me.

This first part just renews your IP lease for your local/private network... your public address (what the SE servers see) would not be change.
