Although I already knew what this command does, you have to accept the possibility that the process of doing so may just in fact have bought you enough time to just nip in there and nab a spot in the queue. I call it a co-incidence.

This isn't the solution... no matter how many people try it.
I have 13 static IPs. I tried multiple after getting locked out. Nothing.
I also cleared DNS. Not a chance that helped.
Renewing your local IP from your router and flushing out your DNS is going to make no difference, as SE probably has IP addresses hard coded into this game anyway... They didn't use DNS for FFXI - who knows if they bothered using it for this game. Either way, I doubt they've changed or added any public IPs that require your game client to communicate with them. They'd most likely release an update if it were so.
Anyone this has worked for - it is only a coincidence. This is not the solution to 3102.
This worked for me thanks
For error 3102 I agree entirely that this working is entirely a coincidence, since the issue is that the server still thinks your character is logged in. You could move to China, buy a brand new PC and connect to it via Satellite internet and it wouldn't change the fact that the server still thinks your character is twiddling their thumbs somewhere in Eorzea...
Tried all the solutions as described here. Nothing worked. Over a hour now that i gives me this error. I wonder what causes these errors?
EDIT:
Okay now i suddenly got to login. Not after any of these solutions. Just an hour after i recieved the error code. Everyone else had to wait a hour or did others login much sooner after getting the error code?
What causes these errors is massive congestion on the back-end servers that handle moving characters around between servers. They get lost and 2 servers don't communicate with each other properly, so one that reports to the lobby servers thinks you're still logged in based upon never receiving a disconnect notice from the server that handles timed out sessions.
That's why flushing out your DNS is going to make no change, as their servers would be the ones requiring a refresh.
just email a ticket. they fixed me in 20min
For some reason, I was able to log in after doing this.
I am actually in the same boat...
Not sure if it was the ticket that did it, or if they are working on it... but after several hours this morning of not being able to login, I am finally on
EDIT: For those of you believing this is the fix - don't be fooled. It seems as if at this point SE is going through and fixing characters individually yet once again. Be patient for the next hour or so and you will probably get in. Submitting a ticket may help put you towards the top? Who knows...
