Any way just to download the patch file it self without having to download the WHOLE game over again?

Yes there is!

Download Bittorrent, then use the following file https://www.dropbox.com/s/vvem35ww12b1ic0/ff14.torrent, Then choose to download where your SquireEnix folder is located, don't choose it to download in the folder only where that folder is located, then it will basicly do a hash and see what you are missing, from a 1GB download i probably only downloaded about 100MB using this method
