Alternative way to update client... (error [11006][20641][20643])

i really want to meet some of these people IRL and beat the shit out of them for releasing faulty products. why not just upload torrents for us and put a readme on how to copy paste the files it would probably go faster and have less issues than what we have now.

Im not to sure if it still does this like in 1.0 but when ever the patcher start downloading it saves it too MyDocuments>mygames>FFXIVARR>Downloads>FFXIVpatch

in there are two folders, and what happened in 1.0 it also saved the actual Torrent file in there that you could load up into any torrent program and download the patch through that. then you just copy and paste the downloaded files back into the FFXIVpatch folder and start up the launcher and it will install it from what you downloaded and moved.

It may still work, but i havent tested it on ARR

you cant i tried looking for the patch file from the previous 1gig patch we had but the game deletes it after installing so only solution is to download the entire game folder
come on SE i know there is only a minority of us having this problems but would it hurt you to add a manual patch option?

I had this error before, makes sure your SquareEnix folder and My game folder is not on "read-only".
So your patches are able to install

Tried doing the read only fix and many other things no matter what I do I cant do the latest update. I had no issues with the launcher / dling patches up to the last update yesterday. This is beyond frustrating. I have to torrent the game to be able to play it

Okay just want to say I am running Windows 7 so I have no clue if this will help, just gonna run down the giant list of everything I did that worked before and then finally did (maybe one will work for you)

1. C:\Users\<my name>\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn\downloads. Delete the ffxivpatch folder

2. Go to
C:\Program Files (x86)\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn\boot
and replace boot with a working copy. *Boot Link*

3. While there I click back to SquareEnix file, right click Final Fantasy XIV, turn off "read only" (it doesn't apply to folder so it will always appear back on if you check again, check a file inside)

4. Turn off any and all firewall or protection services you are using. I have AVG and Windows Firewall both off.

5. Sacrifice a lamb and offer the blood to your god

6. With Windows 7 (and this is apparently in support as well) click Start, in search type "msconfig". In the general tab, turn off "Load startup items" and restart your computer. You may need to "reconnect" your internet if its wireless.

After trying step 6 it worked for me. Good luck to everyone
