    [Suggestion]Weapon Individualization Per Non-Native Skill

I hinted at this in another thread and wanted to propose it publicly.

I'm proposing Weapon Individualization for each Non-Native Skill.

What do I mean? When using a skill not learned from the weapon currently equipped, that skill is Delivered Differently. This is already present to an extent on Conjurer and Thaumaturge in the way they case magic AOE. I'm proposing it be spread out amongst all combat Weapon Classes.

    Examples.

Currently: Right now when an Archer casts a magic Spell, they stop raise their hand near their head and chant then throw the spell out. Just like Conjurer and Thaumaturge do. This is very boring to most people and as a result people claim that weapons have no difference in how they approach any task.

Proposed: When a user uses a non-native skill they adopt that skill for use with their currently equipped weapon. In the Example of Archer. The archer casts the spell onto an Arrow. The Arrow glows with the power of the spell. When they shoot the arrow it explodes with the energy of the spell when it hits the target.

Further Example. The Archer attempts to cast Cure. They cast cure onto an arrow and nock and fire it. In mid Air the arrow is replaced by a Magic Arrow that once it hits its target that target receives the effect of the Cure.

Further Example. A Marauder starts casting Fire. They hold their axe forward and chant. The Firespell enfuses into the weapon itself the Axe Head catches on fire. the Marauder swings and collides the axe head into his target and the spell explodes dealing damage.

Yes. I do understand that some abilities already have elemental attributes like Red Lotus Blade. In instances the Ability trumps the spell anyway. As a Gladiator using Red Lotus Blade should always deal more damage with that skill over the spell Fire. But if the user of these skills is pushing himself towards being a user specializing in Fire Element damage then he can use both alternating.

As for abilities like the Healing and Rebuffing, these ones can be done by using non-lethal alternatives. IE When using a Marauder and healing they strike the ground with the axe and the spell burst out from under its target.

I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.

    Other Examples:

Gladiator Stone Skin (Without Shield): Gladiator casts stone skin into his sword. Sword Glows with the spell. Once its ready he strikes the ground in front of him and draws a line crossing in front of him. The Spell bursts out of the ground along the line where he casted and then fade onto himself.

Gladiator Stone Skin (With Shield): Gladiator casts stone skin into his Shield, when its ready he strikes his shield with his sword the spell bursts out of the shield and then fades onto him.

Pugilist Wide Volly: Pugilist pulls his fist back charging up the skill and "Blinks" mirror images of himself bursting forward and striking all valid targets, he then returns back to his normal stance.

Lancer Wide Volly: Lancer throws his spear up into the air and it falls from the sky multiple times striking all valid targets one landing in front of him to pick back up.

Oh! Oh! Like "Sword of Mana" on the GBA? If you've ever played that game, the way your magic was delivered changed based on what weapon you had equipped!

    Awesome idea! I like it!

These are really simple, yet great ideas! It would definitely help add more distinguishing aspects to playing certain classes, rather than just mixing "template" abilities.

    Yes. ^_^ Thank you.

Sadly as I don't see any real negatives to the implementation of this idea it'll soon get lost amongst all the arguing :/

I do like the idea and I think it would just impress most people if implemented, but it would be a huge challenge doing so. That doesn't mean that they shouldn't plan on doing this in the future and I'm not trying to say that YOU personally are expecting it any time soon. Just... if anyone is... don't hold your breath.

    Still, nice idea.

Yeah If I had to say, I'd say "Slowly implement them as they get ready" so if for instance they get all the skills rank 1-5 done implement them while working on the next 5 ranks.

To achieve the same effect they could just give use the en-(element) spells.

I like your idea too, I can just see a lot of people crying about "being forced" to level other classes for such things.

This wouldn't change anything but the animations. Why would they whine about leveling other classes?

This would remove the need for En-spells to be honest. An if they implement a new class built around "En"spells it could have a skill called "Enchant" that you used first then the next spell you cast is enchanted to the weapon. That way the element is always on the weapon instead of for a specific spell cast.
