About Us

Gin & Tonberries was founded by a tight knit group of raiders from SWTOR who have been playing together since its launch. We had a great run, but decided it was time to reinvent ourselves and progress into a new game. That's when FFXIV:ARR caught our attention.

We are serious about our progress, but we work a little differently than the typical end-game guilds. We like to foster a community of respect in and out of the game. We encourage confidence in our players, but we do not tolerate large egos, useless showmanship, or those who would condescend to or take advantage of others outside of the guild. We kick geared and skilled players without hesitation if we find their personality corrosive.

Many of us are competitive and ambitious in the real world, however, and that tends to carry over into the game. We have particularly high expectations for the character of our membership, but we also will not compromise the progress of our raid teams by choosing players who cannot hold their own to fill our rosters.

We're a fun group, though. Come chill out with us in mumble if you get the chance. We'll just hang out sometimes and watch Salty Bets, and we have a few musicians in the guild so there will be the occasional late night guitar jam sessions over mumble.

Progression

After hours of pouring our blood, sweat, and tears into the fight we have killed Twintania and can proudly say we have defeated everything before 2.1. We are currently working on re-arranging multiple groups to the point where they can get a kill.

Recruitment

Now that we have completed Turn 5, we are ready to turn our attention back to recruiting and building additional groups for the FC. At this time we are now recruiting all classes, though some we need more than others. Minimum requirements for us are full ilvl 70+ and a relic, but additional experience and gear may be needed to be placed on more competitive raid teams. Availability and commitment are big for us. Most of us are on the east coast and our raids tend to run later on weekdays (starting at 9-10 PMish EST).

We are now killing Titan HM. Recruiting for filling raid roles will be temporarily halted as we finish up getting everyone their attunements and organizing the first two groups.

Keep your eyes peeled as we plan on fielding 3 Coil groups. We will be posting in this thread regarding our needs in the near future.

I am now looking for one White Mage in full or nearly full ilvl 70 gear or above who is available from 9PM-1AMish weekdays EST. You don't have to have a relic, but I would prefer it if you are at least on the Chimera part of the quest. We can run you through the rest. We are now looking for two tanks. One for 8PM-Midnight EST weekday time slots, and one for a weekends and late night Thursday slot. Apply if you're interested!

We are now looking for a couple of DPS.

One of these is for my group, the Barracudas. We raid (EST times) Mondays and Wednesdays 10:30 PM to Midnight, Fridays 9:30 PM to 1:00 AM, and Sundays 8:30 PM to 11:00 PM (sometimes midnight). We can get through turns 1-4 with any DPS job, but I'd give preference to a Bard, Black Mage, or Summoner. We have a ton of Dragoons and Monks ready for Coil, so they are less in demand.

We generally clear Turns 1-4 in about 45 minutes total Monday night, though we're getting a late start this week so we will be starting a fresh Coil Wednesday night if anyone who isn't saved would like to show up for a trial run. Our group is highly competent, but most of us have careers in the real world we have invested a lot into so we will not ram our heads against the wall quite as much as the lead group and tend to stick to this schedule. We're not slackers, though, we do spend our time wiping and progressing on new fights. If you are interested fill out an application on the site at www.ginandton.com or message Dabree Solus in game.
