I've explained this in countless threads but I'll give you the short.
Queueing requires fetching place in queue. That pings the server.

Ok. So ping the server once every 5 minutes and update people's position in queue.
How many times do you think people (like myself) ping the server with scripts designed to attempt login every 2 seconds continuously for hours on end?
There is absolutely no excuse to not implement an off server queue system which does this for the user, as every other MMO I can think of, has done for many many years.
The incompetence required to force users to spend hours attempting to login, coupled with the lack of AFK kick system.
The fact that Yoshi barely touched on these two issues, only noting that they are "considering" looking into them.... unbelievable.
but worse.... He actually had the balls to say "Most of the people are actually playing" (ie not afk).
I wonder how many people were "actually playing" between 3am and 7am both nights this past weekend, when my script attempted to login over 2000 times unsuccessfully?
I've now cancelled my subscription.
If a queue system is not implemented before the end of the trial period I'll contact my credit card company for a refund of the original purchase. Simple.
Good luck with that buddy, please let us know how that goes, you can't reverse charges on something you bought and used legally, so have fun with that, and while your at it wipe the sand out of your privates, everybody is having this issue, I barely get time to play, only bought the game to play with my wife and her server is currently impossible to make a character on, we are all there crying about it just shows the world how grown up you are, way to go, get a gold star from all of us
Nice Zerathul, guy simply posts that he is unhappy with the game, that he paid for, and would like a refund. There was no whining, no qq, no "entitled" speech in his post but you still found the time to jump on here and attempt to belittle him. Glad to see how "...grown up you are..."Good luck with that buddy, please let us know how that goes, you can't reverse charges on something you bought and used legally, so have fun with that, and while your at it wipe the sand out of your privates, everybody is having this issue, I barely get time to play, only bought the game to play with my wife and her server is currently impossible to make a character on, we are all there crying about it just shows the world how grown up you are, way to go, get a gold star from all of us
He also went as far as to discuss what would make him stay with the game, and imo it was a more than reasonable request. Please take a moment to look at how people, who were told a game would be working on a set day, are now starting to get upset at the insufficient foresight of SE, especially when their game is a "reworked game" since the first one failed, and they have had more than enough time to remedy these issues. Its ok to defend the game/company you enjoy, just don't attempt to bash on people when they voice their opinion in an intelligent way.
Thanks
Wow. Glad someone who is "very grown up" gave me constructive advice about my private parts.Good luck with that buddy, please let us know how that goes, you can't reverse charges on something you bought and used legally, so have fun with that, and while your at it wipe the sand out of your privates, everybody is having this issue, I barely get time to play, only bought the game to play with my wife and her server is currently impossible to make a character on, we are all there crying about it just shows the world how grown up you are, way to go, get a gold star from all of us
And while I very much hope they fix things before it comes to it, I expect very little argument from my credit card company, who I have an outstanding relationship with, regarding a refund for a product that was paid for and not provided.
It's actually far more likely that they would refund me out of their own pocket than to risk losing me as a customer (since banks actually do serve their customers and want to retain them).
More likely than that is that they will just get the money from SE.
Anyhow, as I said I hope it doesn't come to it, but I will post the result if it does.
Btw, thanks Red.

Well let's see, the NA/EU servers are grouped together, and depending on where you are in NA there's between a 5-8 hour difference between you and Europe. Taking a guess that you're NA user (you might not be, but I'm a gambler) then that time period your script was pinging the servers constantly, like the LOIC anon script kiddies use, that it was (let's use CST for this since it sits in the rough middle of NA) between the hours of 9am and 1pm over in Europe (GMT thereabouts). I would hazard a guess that the people who logged off when they went to bed likely had their spots filled by European players who were just waking up.
The point I'm making is that because NA and EU share the same servers, we do not have down time in the middle of the night like we should.
A valid point. However, I stand by my point that there are a large percentage of AFK on all servers at any given time due to the inability to get back on once you are logged off.
I think any statement otherwise (like Yoshi's) is naive at best, and dishonest at worst.
