They said heavy restrictions will be in place after maintenance so that is why the worlds filled rather quickly.
Must be all those AFKers that stayed logged in during maintenance >.> /sarcasm

I waited a few hours after the servers were up, figuring the login rush would be over. I still got 1017.
But after about 5 minutes I got in.
I'm going to log in and out on my second account throughout the day to see what happens. I've been generally supportive of SE and understanding of their efforts, but if this isn't cleared up by tonight, I'm going to start getting a bit unhappy :/
I believe we're along the same lines. 1017 sure pissed me off a lot since launch, but it's something I had assumed long ago would happen, yet be resolved quickly. So I've been pretty level-headed with my opinions on the matter. From what I understood, this maintenance was intended to fix the log in problems and add new worlds.
I think seeing it just scared me because I was expecting it not to be there, but then I saw in their post that they were going to be controlling the log in flow until they see it stabilize throughout the day.
*crossing fingers for when I get home from work*
So the overachievers can troll and kick the newcomers and other people who want to watch the cutscenes in group encounters? No thanks, it will be swtor all over again.Ahahaha, ;D I couldn't care less about 1017. I'm still getting the same thing too but what is more annoying is the fact that Square Enix failed to implement a kick function for the party leader. All of these disconnects and trolls are definitely a mark against Square Enix's "revision" of a bad MMORPG. Honestly, what were they thinking? We'd all play nice and everyone would have a stable, bug-free, client with a 24/7 uptime connection?
"Dumbass"? Sure, whatever you say. Just goes to show that being a real tough keyboard warrior on a forum is the easiest thing in the world. Hope we can meet someday so you get the opportunity so say it to my face though.
I used swtor as a comparison because like FFXIV:ARR, SWTOR also has rather lengthy cutscenes in group content which can be skipped by the players, whereas WoW has not.
Anyway, allowing the group leader to kick groupmembers is placing an awful lot of power in the hands of players which can easily be abused, despite checks and balances. And considering that SE won't even allow /tells in group content, I would not hold my breath waiting for a kick function.

Yup, I believe I made an edit shortly before you posted your reply![]()
By all means, sure. I'm sure you're welcome to take the 15 debuff instead of waiting for a troll or AFK person to leave on their own (yeah right, LOL). ;D
And no, it won't be SWTOR all over again because this is FFXIV: ARR. Honestly, are you a dumbass or something? WoW and plenty of other MMORPG's have kick functions.
Did you even think of Square Enix programming the kick vote function to not work against those who are viewing cutscenes too? Lol, it's not like a kick function is the same across MMORPG's. Seriously think before you type next time.
Watching BARA YAOI in Sadao's room.
I logged in immediately this morning, no issues at all. Today is the first time I've done so.
The server size was increased so more people can afk inside, not for you guys to evade the 1017 raid boss.
