I love people that say "I love doing it in 10 minutes, saves time."
...time from what exactly? From you playing the game? Isn't that what you're already doing? If you don't enjoy doing one of the core mechanics of the game that much, why do you even bother?
I only skip trash mobs if I have to, like if my team lacks communication or if the boss has a learning curve. But completing the map layout provides a achievement. If the game didn't have a time. It'll be so much better.
everyone has their own reason for playing the game. for some people it is efficiency in reaching a maxed out character, for others it is to relax and soak in the atmosphere. I generally fit into the efficiency category, however i don't hold it against folks for wanting to take it slow and enjoy what the devs / artists put together.
i like the fact that we can do 20 minute clears. it makes farming the thousands of tomes you need to complete the darklight set more tolerable. honestly i would have preferred they upped the difficulty of the dungeons and just had darklight drop from the bosses instead of having to mindlessly grind out tokens, but we can't get everything we want.
I agree with the OP, clearing out trash in some dungeons takes too much time to be even remotely enjoyable.
I was in one group that tried to do that. Unfortunately, the BLM then pulled the first boss, causing a wipe. And then started to complain about the tank. And complain about the tank. And complain about the tank. And complain about the tank. Our second attempt at speed running to the first boss worked much better, but the healer bailed due to the idiot BLM who wouldn't shut up, and that was the end of that.
