Preparing for Battle/Job system

So i suppose since there are no assigned 'roles' in this game, I can be a party-healing Pugilist? Thats what it sounds like everyone is saying.

In this game, you assign your own roles, not the game. you may have 3 Thaum's in your party, but what would each of them be doing? in MY case, i stand at range and heal, setting myself as the role healer. If it turns out they are doing mad-heals and focusing on the preservation of HP, i will switch to attacking.

Same thing with Gladiator. There are 3 gladiators, who will be the main tank? cant all do it. Pick one, and the other 2 set their skills to do damage, often to certain body parts of the enemy. I usually only leave 3 spaces for attack skills, and they always depend on what I am fighting. Not tanking, take off phanalax and set a skill to help incap.
