Scholar DPS half of WHM or any other class

Scholar has half the DPS that a WHM has while in cleric stance which you can easily come and go from. I don't even feel that I need to break down the spells because its so obvious.

Scholar nuke does 80
WHM nuke does 187 (170 +10% from cleric stance)

Scholar does get 2 dots compared to WHM one dot but that hardly makes a difference.

This class needs a seriouse look at its DPS. I would advise giving it a trait that adds 120% to scholar nuke.

I know some people will come here and say "its a healing class not a DPS class". Does that mean that I need to take 2X as long to solo pve as everyone else? Maybe I should be like everyone else and just switch to Summoner for PVE but that's not what I want to do.

Perhaps you should actually look at the 2 classes skills before creating totally uninformed threads like this? Here is a comparison of dmg just through 30 since you clearly are only focusing on first dinging scholar.

WHM

Aero - 50 + 25 potency, 18s = 200 potency
Stone II = 170 potency

SCH

Bio 40 potency, 18s = 240 potency
Miasma 20 + 35 potency, 24 seconds = 300 potency
Bio II = 35 potency, 30 seconds = 350 potency
Ruin = 80 potency
Energy Drain = 150 potency

WHM have a dot ticking for 25 potency, SCH have 3 dots ticking for 150 potency. Of course the math gets more complicated due to cast times and initial damages and whatnot, but you get the point. You are simply completely wrong, SCH actually does more damage than a WHM. Also SCH has access to Cleric Stance as well (along with Aero).

On top of doing more damage they also have a fairy auto-healing them the whole time so they don't have to stop casting ever.

So Owned... And the funny part is, with my WHM, even though soloing damage is lower, it's to be expected and I don't mind. I do ENOUGH damage to not feel underpowered, and when I roll dutys, I turn into SUPER healer =D

Also free spell speed from Selene half the time for what it's worth. Shouldn't really need Eos for soloing. Also, I believe miasma ii is a 4th DoT.

i can pump out just shy of 100 dps without cleric stance as a sch whilst healing titan HM, we do NOT need more dmg lol..

To be fair, jobs are intended for group play. They are 'specialized' versions of their corresponding class. In this case, the scholar is a healing/support skewed take on the arcanist. With this said, it is expected that each job's soloability will vary greatly (some being able to do it fairly well and others not so much).

For solo play, you really shouldn't be running around with a job stone equipped.

don't forget you can cross class aero and thunder also, so you can have a ton of dots ticking.
Although its just easier to switch to acn or smn if you are going to solo since youll have a pet to tank multiple monsters and not have to worry about spell interrupts.
