Discerning Eye: Disciples of War... or Magic?

I've recently acquired Pugilist 26 and got Discerning Eye. What's the point of being a skill for Disciples of Magic?
I know the Armoury System grants us the possibility to mix skills/spells, but I cannot figure out a situation where this skill becomes useful for Disciples of Magic.
Could you please share your thoughts? Any help/hint will be much appreciated.

The armory system is poorly implemented, good idea, but terrible execution like many things under the old director.

Rather than thinking "what's the point?", think "why not?" You're not forced to use it as a DoM, but it's there as an option. That's what the armoury system is all about; giving you options. They don't all make sense and most people under most circumstances won't utilize some options, but they're there in the rare occasion that it does help.

I'm used to play around with the Armoury System, even though I know that things may change when battle patch comes. I tend to use that "Why not?" question, indeed, but I can't figure out the reason to use a skill that increases attack power with Disciples of Magic. You know, even our basic attacks are considered magic attacks.
Let me reformulate my thoughts:

Is there any situation in which you would want to increase your attack power when playing Disciples of Magic? Am I missing something? Maybe I should post this on DoM forums...
