Patch notes?

Bit new to where to find stuff, are there any patch notes anywhere for the 1GB update it is running just now?

Patch notes will always be found over on the Updates subforum (Information > Updates), as for this one, it currently says, "Update details will be announced at a later time."

Thanks for posting this question, I was thinking about checking for an update but had decided not to until morning...glad I checked the forums one more time!

and more since adding new servers doesn't patch your client with 1 gb

Nah - not really - last patch was also 1 GB on PC and 750 MB on PS3 - they might be replacing the whole (same) file of the same or similar size. You can't simply say large update file = major update. They could have changed a few (tens or hundreds of) MBs only and you'd still need to donwload the whole file anyway, the same way like you always need to download the whole new firmware even if they'd change just one character in the text menu somewhere ...

It's a massive 1GB patch so they've obviously made some in-game changes, I just wish they'd announce them straight away

Nope - I doubt there will be any major changes at all (see my post above) - and 1 GB is far from massive for sure.

*I just don't want people to keep up big hopes for any new content or some surprise changes or anything like as that wasn't planned and simply not gonna happen. You do NOT mix sytem fixes of such large scales with adding new stuff or performing major changes as it could only lead to introducing additional problems rather than fixing current issues.

1gb isnt that big in MMO standards, Most true content updates are 2-3gb this is more than likely just replacing the basic file with the new server groups and summer content like Karari said.

It's probably content for that summer event where we get swim suits and minor other adjustments.
