New EU Server - New Character - Advice Sought on Crafting Professions Please

Hi Folks, so I finally managed to log onto the game last night and created a character on the new EU Server. It was so good to finally be able to sit down and play the game for a reasonably extended amount of time.

I decided that I'd create a Melee character as I've only played casters up until now so I've gone Gladiator with the intention of leveling to Paladin. I was wondering what crafting professions people would recommend, I'm leaning towards Mining/Armourer but would be interest to hear what someone with experience of the crafting system would recommend.

Weaponsmithing would be ideal as you need it to at least 40 for you relic weapon @ level 50

i have yet to try the new craft system, and i know you said you want someone with experience but mining/armourer/weaponsmith and usually the standard for melee types as they just work so well together, which is why ill be aiming toward mining/weaponsmith (my char is also gladiator)

Thanks for the responses. That's kind of what I thought, I think I'll go Mining/Armourer to start with an option on picking up Weaponsmith later.

I have found Weaver to be the most beneficial so far in terms of what you can craft even at low levels. Its also a great starting craft because then youll get tunics/tabbards that gives ALOT of bonus stats (eg, craft +40, gathering +40.... and so on) if you go for HQ outcomes

Well my other character is a Thaumaturge so I will probably go Weaver on that character.
