My ISP caps only my ffxiv update which is annoying watching it update at 60kbs, although I never get my update stop or anything I sympathise with people who do. Other than FFXIV tho I get max adsl speed on everything else

It may not be an issue for those of you with fast connections but for some of us it is an already slow process without having to restart for errors.
Took me an hour to download so not bad, some parts of the UK have really crap speeds compared to others.![]()
When I complained about it on the beta forum, I got slapped by the local white knights then got banned for 10 days because I raised the pointed too loudly as I was completely baffled by this issue. I wouldn't put much hope into them trying to fix it to be honest.
Well 'woop de do' for everyone and their 1GB per second download speeds.
Not everyone is so privileged, so stop being so "Let them eat cake" and naive about the enter fanbase.
Despite having a good general internet connection, this happened to me several times when trying to update the 2.0 client near launch day. Throttled speeds, 8GB download, and had to restart several times - so it took 2 days to actually download the game.
The resume function should not be something that is a) hard to implement for SE, and b) not a big ask of an MMO in this day. Even FFXI would only download the files it needed (granted after an annoyingly long file check) after a D/C.
There is also the issue of traffic - I can guarantee that all of you will be complaining when the next big patch hits, and everyone is downloading at the same time, so your speeds are throttled to 0.1MB per sec, and you have to start your patch all over again from a D/C, or an error.
Common Sense is a language most misunderstood on the continent of the MMOForum

4 times I've tried to download the patch now, each time failed. Estimated download time for me is an hour, really don't see why there is no "resume from where you left off" feature. I had this same problem downloading the client in beta for PS3, and SE sorted it. But now for PC we have the same problem again
EDIT: Finally got it downloaded... 4 and a half hours later :/

a 350mb cable and it takes me 350min to download.. The joy

I got it in about 3 minutes - then took another 3 minutes to install. If the updater is doing what it did in beta 2/3 it just look like it starts from 0 while its counting what files it already has.
.

LOL fuck you guys with good internet lmao not seriously hatin but yeh shit sucks took me an hour and a half to down load lol
