No Resume? Really?

C'Mon SE. After all the goop we've been putting up with, you really offer a 1gig patch that has to be restarted totally from scratch?

Maybe it's your file server(s), Maybe it's my ISP, Maybe there's some other issue. No matter what, for cryin out loud, let us pick up the download where we left off!


Seriously. 6 attempts all failing at 800MB+ complete.....

Not my favorite way to spend 3 hours.

Well, 1GB is not really that much in this day. Mine downloaded and installed in less than 5 minutes

A resume would be nice. Still, downloading 1g is really easy. Takes 5-10 minutes.

...what I'm more concerned about is: why do we have to log in just to get the update? It's like "yo hey the world indicator is all red, as it should be, too, by the schedule, but yeah I'm gonna try logging in anyway"...? Kind of backwards logic, if you ask me.

Yeah, somehow, even with a tested 30Mbps dowload, it still takes 30+ minutes to get that 1gig file. Given any sneeze anywhere in the line it fails.

Something's fishy somewhere, but I see nothing from here to indicate what it might be.

Even so, there's no reason I should spend 30 minutes downloading, only to have it fail and have to rinse/repeat 6 times.

Resume isn't just a thing that'd be really nice for you 5 minutes guys, it's dang near necessary for the rest of us.

My ISP is horrible and my client updated within just a few minutes. I don't think the 'resume' would really be necessary for THIS particular patch.. although I do see why people would be confused that this functionality is not available in 2013.

You all need to shut your mouths and quit complaining. I live in Australia and 1GB takes me 3 hours to download.

Honestly there should be resume, pretty ridiculous that there isn't.
