    Culinarian Help

Hi! Any other culinarians out there?

I've managed to lvl my culinarian to 28 now. I'm wondering if I could get some tips on some best ways to progressing further.
    • How to level after ~28? Should I still go for lvl25 guildleves and are there still some that give 200% additional exp? Completing the crafting log seems kind of tough without some rare materials. Are there low lvl foods I should grind on?
    • How to make gil? Selling food is an end-game thing and I'm wondering what some hot food items are there? Seems like the ones helpful for other crafters seems nice, but are there others you have found sell well?
    • How to manage shards? If I'm grinding, I lose a lot of shards and they sell for like 40 gil on the market, which I'd prefer not to pay. Do you guys farm your own shards with a DoL class or is there another way to get them?0

Thanks for the tips in advance. Also I'm looking for some high level botanists on Gilgamesh to work with.

    Hi,

I'm only level 23 so far but I noticed that in the 25-29 bracket is Cornmeal which I plan to grind for ages. Is your botanist at a high enough level to farm Millioncorn? Sorry, I can't be much more help.

At 28 I was doing the leves at Quarrymill or Costa Del Sol. Try your best to craft HQ items for the leves and the exp will roll in like mad.

HQ items for leve turn-ins are great. One thing to keep in mind is that for company seals you can buy a manual that increases your crafting XP for 3 hours/20k XP, whichever comes first. If you know you're going to be crafting a bunch of stuff, those are great to have.

Also, I think it's somewhere in the 30s that the recipe for apple juice opens up, which is a recipe that doesn't need half a dozen materials, unlike most of the others.

If I were to do it all over again, I would have leveled up BTN and MIN first then Culinarian. Reason being that high level mats are super expensive at the moment. I'm sure the prices are going to come down now since there are more high level BTN and MIN popping up. But during the first week or so of play I was always broke trying to level my CUL. MIN is important to level to 20 partly because of the perk of picking up extra fire shards. CUL uses fire and water shards like crazy and I found myself buying some on the market when I ran out and didn't have a MIN class setup. Best way to level CUL once you reach 25 is to use leves that offer 3x turn-in. Its best to turn in HQ items because you get a huge bump in exp and gold. I got the all the leves from Limsa.

find an item that sells well on your server ( within reasonable lvl range) and make that for cash. I've started doing this around lvl 24 and have reached lvl 34 by just making stacks to sell on the market each night and all my stuff is sold by the morning
