I'm sitting here reading all these posts about how people want to have "free world transfer" and "rerolling" which I guess mean the same thing. Everybody either can't play or are not in the same world as their friends if they are playing. Seems everyone is just talking about what they want, and how we are going to be compinsated for this total injustice on SE part for not being psychic. People are getting a little to carried away.

SE has been pretty good about keeping us informed about what is happening, how they are addressing it, and what they have planned for later. It's only been one week since official launch, and we already are getting more servers so people can play. I'd say that's pretty quick response if you ask me. SE has apologied for all the inconvenience, and are correcting it right now. SE stated in all news I have read what they are doing right now and "free world transfer" is not one of them. SE also already stated that world transfer would be available later on down the road. So there should be no question about it. Tomorrow we all should be able to log in. If you're not in the same world as your friends right now you will be able to do so later. If there is a fee then whatever. They will address that later I'm sure. Right now SE in doing its best to make the game playable for everyone with minimum hassle. Rome wasn't build in a day, and I, as a customer, don't feel uninformed by SE. That is all.

i agree for the most part but i do think they should offer a way to have free transfers sooner then later, there were many people that had to go on different servers just because they couldnt log into the one that their friends were on. thats entirely SE fault. and im happy they are doing everything they can but i mean thats just not cool to have those people separated from their friends because of something that was out of the players control. and if they charge for world transfers thats just not acceptable for the reason i just stated.
im not really affected by this but i still sympathize with those that it does affect.

this isnt bashing SE, i just think that even though they are doing a good job trying to fix all this and its really unfortunate for everyone including them, everything needs to be corrected, not just the servers

World Transfer = Move current toon to another , less congested world
Re-Roll = start brand new (no gear, no levels) on a different server.

Transfers to START Mid Sept... so not anytime soon either. 2+ weeks.

Server transfers and rerolling are not the same thing.

A server transfer is moving an existing character from one server to another.
Rerolling is a term for having to completely recreate a character, originating from pen and paper rpg's in which players would roll dice when creating their characters to determine stats.

The reason that people do not want to reroll and want the free server transfers is because they want to be able to either play with their friends, which they are entitled to in an MMO, or not be on a server that is overpopulated and may cause them to not be able to get in and play. Players want these things which I believe are reasonable and they want to be able to have them without losing the progress and time that they have spent with the characters that they have already created.

I hope you can understand why people feel this way, and maybe even come to feel that this is a justifiable desire.

But I am hoping more than anything else that the server maintenance will fix many of the problems and having to transfer servers will not be necessary.
