    First off, its EULA.

    Secondly, stupid post is stupid.

I seriously feel like this community is just against change and progress. Whatever makes this game seem like something that came out recently as opposed to something that came out back in 2002 you guys are against.

He's talking about LUA the scripting language. Of particular note it's used to code World of Warcraft Add-Ons and UI mods, though it is certainly used for much more beyond that. Perhaps you should give your other forum members some credit before jumping on them. : )

Generally because a lot of people, especially casual gamers, dislike having to use "standard" mods and hacks in order to enjoy their video game. You can say "don't use it", but the general supporters will say "you don't have to use it but don't expect to be accepted into raids."

It's not about Progress...not even in the slightest.

Mods like Bartender, Fubar or w/e made browsing your inventory and using abilities in WoW a lot easier. It is the possibilities of all kidns of mods that makes it less appealing, because it can pretty much destroy the whole purpose of some stuff.

Just consider WoW here...when Blizzard is developing new raid instances now, they already develop them with the thought in the back of their minds, that stuff like Boss Mods etc are being used.

I'm sorry...as far as I'm welcoming modded UIs for easier navigation and stuff...I am completely against stuff that "tells you what to do and when to do it" like Boss Mods etc. Would you like to know that you have to stun the mob in 3 seconds, cause the script tells you that he will use "so and so" ability in 3 seconds that needs to be stunned?

This has nothing to do with progress or "modern" UIs...this is just taking away your own effort and turns it into a trivial task.

People who are against modded UIs are not against the positive stuff that comes with, they are against the negative stuff that comes with it, which outweighs the positive easily IMO. If modded UIs come(which requires SE to make the code public) it's free for use for whatever mod you have in my mind and it WILL end up in stuff like Boss Mods or similiar things, and no matter how much I'd like an optimized UI, I'd rather pass on it if it means things like boss mods will come as well.

Stop trolling Ostia, seriously. Read my post and think again before you act like a smartass. I never said the Mods play the game for you, I said mods can take away your own effort and make it a trivial task(Boss Mods)

Boss Mods doesn't do things for you, but they tell you what to do at what time...that's already way more then I'd like to see in XIV...

If you like to play XIV and fight boss' as if you are mentally retarded, that's your choice.

What effort ? it does not does anything, other than display information, or give you a warning that bosses already do, if i dont move from the AOE or the fire or the incoming attack, it null, and its not like the original UI from WOW does not display's said warnings on its own anyways. All you gotta do is go to options, interface, select show cast bars on enemy's and thats it, now you can see what boss mod does w/o boss mods lol
