Oh my, totally forgot that. I stand corrected. Unless of course that is indeed what they meant.. ;oHe's talking about LUA the scripting language. Of particular note it's used to code World of Warcraft Add-Ons and UI mods, though it is certainly used for much more beyond that. Perhaps you should give your other forum members some credit before jumping on them. : )
Wikipedia Entry on LUA
Sorry, just a little annoyed by most of the replies on here. Omg custom UI the sky is gonna fall.

First off, its EULA.
Secondly, stupid post is stupid.
I seriously feel like this community is just against change and progress. Whatever makes this game seem like something that came out recently as opposed to something that came out back in 2002 you guys are against.

Yep, my bad. I posted above. :X
Yes we know a UI mod doesn't always have to be something that tells us something, But it does include that.Personally, I'd just like to make a point that a lot of people seem to have overlooked when Bayohne said they'll eventually support custom UI mods.
-Custom UI Modding does not explicitly mean the same Mod API/Language/Feature Set as WoW, Warhammer, Aion, or whatever X/Y/Z Game you think of when they say 'UI Mods'-
A UI Mod API (Application Program Interface for non-technical people), can include additional features and access to non-standard information like WoW's does, or it can not. It could be a strictly visual UI modification set, such as only changing how your UI Icons look, or where they're placed.
Until you have more information, jumping the gun down SE or anyone else's throat and saying that 'UI mods will ruin the game!' or 'UI Mods will allow cheating!' or 'UI mods will create an unfair playing field!' or 'LS will start requiring UI mods!' remember: This game is -NOT- WoW/WAR/Whatever game you're thinking of. The term 'Custom UI' or 'UI Mod' is a -vastly- expansive term, ranging from minor aesthetic changes to complete overhauls or additional non-standard abilities.
Im all for UI mods that add more icons, or like a UI mod that displays all your action bars at once. I am NOT for UI mods that tell you what a enemy is gonna do and makes a big message across your screen when they are doing it, or mods that tell you how much threat your generating and so forth. those are unnecessary. but as said, maybe SE wont allow such mods.
I'd love a Stamina mod that showed the exact # or % of our Stamina
yes I would swap insane blue designed windows in a flash. Good news![]()
They use LUA in Natural Selection 2
I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.
I'm pretty sure the FFXIV UI is already in LUA, and thus supports LUA.
Changing the way the information we have is displayed... go for it. I would love a sleeker looking UI, percentages displays for existing bars (stamina for example), better looking icons, what have. Great idea. If by mods they mean a UI that all but presses the buttons for me... screw that. If you need a mod to tell you how well you are tanking, I don't want you as my tank. I can tell how well you are tanking based on whether or not the mob turns and sticks me with that TP move. Just my 2cents.
