I should have elaborated, but that's what I was thinking as well.

I think there should be more UI aspects implimented, like... real world clock perhaps.

I really like FFXIV's UI. It's clean, it stays out of the way, and it only shows stuff when I need it. There's not really anything I would change, aside from switching to a radial action bar.

Oh god that would be awesome.
The more actions you equip the more radials get added so even if you have all your "Action Bars" equipped its all one circle.

Going even further they can make it so

X = Action in the field. Hold X brings up Radial, Camera Stick controls which item on the radial you select. Releasing X selects and triggers the skill. That way the radial is not always up if you do not want it up and lets you use the Camera or Move stick to select the action.

I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.

I would be for asthetic mods, but i wouldnt like plugin type mods, because people will just say "you're gimp if you dont use xxx mod" i would however like to make the UI look like I want examples posted in here seem cool.

This could even be implemented in ffxiv config with an outline of where the border of the screen would be and edits in there like colours and menu mods, and possibly menu shortcuts in the main screen.

Why are people getting so worked up over something as silly as this? If we have the ability to mod our own UI what is the big deal? I mean if you don't want addons, then don't use them. I have a friend that plays WoW. He has six or more characters that are maxed out in level. He is also really good at doing the job that he does. Funny thing, he doesn't use any addons at all. If you don't want to mod your UI, then don't, keep it on default. But, people that want to have the UI to fit their tastes should be able to.

Within reason, of course. It won't be too hard for them to regulate modding in some way or another. I'm also sure that they can find a way to have is so that the PS3 UI can be modded as well. With the way console systems are heading, I don't think it will be very difficult to do.

I'm all for being able to make adjustments to the UI. I have too much junk on my screens, at least as far as my tastes go. I go the minimalist route when it comes to widgets on my screen.

Oblivion is adding its mods to ps3 and xbox 360. it can be done, but its harder. Heck I just want to change the color of the UI. And what's wrong with looking at health bars, in XI thats all I looked at lol.

What we're worried about is that we'll see a situation in FFXIV like we do in WoW with the "Gear scores" and "Deadly Boss Mods". Many people consider these UI mods mandatory for participation.

Yeah, yeah, I know we don't *have* to use them, but the fact that so many people believe the game cannot be played without them takes a lot away from those of us who are satisfied with the default UI.

We are talking about skins that change the look and position of the UI , not changing the way they work, there is a pretty big difference.
