WHAT IF.. 1 gig was so people will take longer to download so less people have to log in.. thus making it less hard on the servers..

I live in a state not even connected to the US and the whole download and update process took about 10min. 1gb is nothing for most people.

Also consider this is the first real patch after release. I'm sure a lot of little things have changed.

its not content patch only 1 week after launch. they still need to fix stuff before they add more stuff they have to troubleshoot.

Before any big raid content ever being put to the game, they really need to fix the poor network code in the game, it's far from the standards of gaming at the moment. Having the servers communicate as follow: Server asks the client where it is, the client answers, the server answers with the result, all this takes at least 500ms to complete, which ends up with you getting hit with ifrits ground attack, even though on your screen, you moved before the ground attack went through. It's pointless to have the information bounce in 2 directions, when it should only be executed with 1. This is a big problem if they ever want to add serious raiding in this game.

Highly doubt there is any raid content being added. We have the Coil place that is our end game content for now until the next major patch.
