3 New servers already visisble in the (updated) launcher ...

If you update your launcher now you can see 3 new servers at the bottom of the list:

Pandaemonium
Famfrit
Lich

So - let's hope those will last a bit for those of you planing to roll on new servers.

There is about 9 MB launcher update and then 1027,31 MB game update on PC and 745 MB on PS3.

3 servers isn't much, especially if, as Malorey said, that's 1 for each region. I expected like 6 new servers minimum for US/EU! I hope there is more they just have not brought online yet.

It doesn't specify the regions so we can only asume it's one per each. Also - I've went through the list just by what I remember so it could be that there are some other servers in the middle of the list ...

Keep in mind, there are new servers being added to previous worlds to deal with player load as well. So if they manage to get each current world running better then they currently are, then even if it's only three new ones, that's really good.

lich is probably JP since its a summon from FFT and NA/EU and most of the summons are on their servers

Lich was one of the important bosses in the first final fantasy. So who's to say it will only be a JP server.

The irony is that the actuall worlds (once you've managed to barge through the avalanche of errors) where working quite fine, the actuall issue was (is?) that the lobby and queue servers were colapsing under the influx of all the players plus indeed the "central" isntance's servers - e.g. all the non-world specific ones. If those has been upgraded to manage the higher load that should take care of majority issues during actual login process and at entering or leaving instances.

I don't remember valefor being in the list either, but I never paid much attention.

It was one of the later added JP servers.
