Cross-platform play? (PC/PS3)

Sorry if this is somewhere else, but I am wondering if I want to play on the PC and I have a copy of the PS3 version do I need to buy a digital download at some point or a PC version in order to play on both? Or can through the purchase of the PS3 version I can also play my account on the PC if I so wish?

I tried logging in to my partners account on the PC ( he has the PS3 version) and it wouldn't let me log it in. So do we basically have to buy 2 versions of the game to be able to play on both?

I believe that you have to have a version for both platforms so that your account can be linked to both versions.
I could be wrong about this, but I'm pretty sure that is what I read somewhere.

If that is the case I find it hilarious that the Canadian retail merchant ebgames.com lists one of the features of the PS3 version as:

- Cross-platform play on PlayStation 3 and Windows PC

but like I said I tried logging in my partner's account on my PC and it didn't work... false advertising?

Also... once a PSN account is bound to an SE account, it cant be bound to another one

so yeah.. it is cross-platform.. as long as you have a version for both platforms

Not really, cross-platform means that there are ps3 and pc players on the same server. There are more games like that that aren't mmo's. You have fps that are cross-platform which means nothing more then pc and ps3 players can battle against eachother, doesnt mean you can do both with one and the same copy.

You have to have both versions of the game attached to your account to be able to play on both. So yes, technically you have to buy it twice if you want to play on both.

I play on PC
you play on PS3

we can play together. (already done, proved, and enjoyed when I got online the first days)

I must have misinterpreted the meaning then when I read it. Well thanks for clearing that up lol, I don't really need an extra copy of the physical versions so guess I will just have to get a digital copy for the codes when they become available again.

Well physical copy probably might be any use, but it probably be safe to have the 4-4-4 code for PSN activation as well as the 6-3-6-3 code for product registration. And the 30 days game time will be added on top of your current time. Essentially the price for a physical media is minimal and largely the price is for first 30 days game time.
