It was a lot worse in p3/p4 for me, this now is quite playable. During quick casts it still can be a problem though, yes. As a tank, gotta be on the ball at all times.

Have the same problem, got bashed by my party after Dzemael last boss ( and the 2nd one ) even though I tried to explain them... I 'm not doing this dungeon anymore and I'm afraid to discover the next ones.
AOE that are randomly cast can be avoided, but when you are targeted by the mob, you can't escape it.
Another thread about this :

It does very much concern me, as I still notice the delay almost the same way I did back then. It's still possible to leave the AoE range of mobs and be hit anyway. It may be a minor issue while leveling up, but I can't imagine it'll be any different in dungeons and stuff.
Before the new betas I was expecting actual EU servers, which is why I moved to Ragnarok originally. Then we learned there's only gonna be JP and NA servers, and that's just stupid if you ask me. It almost feels as if we wouldn't matter. It sure makes a difference in latency if the server is just 'around the corner', or all the way across the ocean.
So yea, definitely wanting EU servers located in Europe! Otherwise you could just as well call them NA servers just like the rest of 'em! It is very much misleading if you think about it, a while ago some person was under the impression the servers were located in Germany (oh that would be sweet), so chances are high people are not even fully aware of this silliness.
Yes please.

europeans dont even get ways to contact customer service so we sure as heck aint gonna get a datacentre. wont stop me living in hopes though![]()
.
This is something we were asking for back in beta but got the big ignore. I agree that we need a European data center. I live in central Europe and have an extremely difficult time defeating bosses because I cannot avoid the aoe due to latency. It has become so frustrating that I don't even bother doing the dungeons at all.

Don't rely on the aoe target as the animation is delayed. I nearly always use the casting bar above the mobs hp bar now and it helps loads and is more accurate. This is something we were asking for back in beta but got the big ignore. I'm so glad there's a post already on this. I cant even believe that they can even call them "EU servers". It's more like "foreign speaking servers" v_v The latency does suck balls but I'm sure they will improve it in due time.. but really it is a MUST fix.. it's not really a case of "maybe". But for now I'm still thoroughly enjoying the game so the latency isn't a concern.
If they want EU players to pay subscription, I expect top notch service from them. Lag is here, lag is noticeable, from skill activation, AOE rings etc. They must add physical servers in EU. For a Pay2Play game this is unacceptable.
Even that Grind Wars 2 (Guild Wars 2) that is Buy2Play MMORPG has datacenters in EU and USA.

Agreed. I don't even know why they make the distinction between NA and EU servers at all - obviously, friends would gather on the same server anyway (or at least, would try to); and it clearly makes no sense on the technical side either...
