Stating your opinion as though it were fact does not make you more right. I rather enjoy Sch and the story line makes it perfectly clear why you have a fairy. They didn't give it a fairy because they were stuck - they could of given Conjurer the Sch soul crystal and no pet but they gave it to Arcanist because they had a vision for Sch in FFXIV and it was a damn good one.
Just because they didn't copy XI doesn't mean it's wrong. If they made even half the changes suggested in this thread I'd just quit this game outright as would many many Scholar players. Sch is the only job I don't get bored of and I don't want that to change because of XI players like yourself
