It would be nice if we could trade in our yukatas/swimsuits/santa gear for vanity slot equivalent equipment when the vanity slot system gets released.

If all other MMOs that have had such a system are any indication the scantily clads will be there but not the majority by a long shot. The majority people will be using the system to make elaborate personal costumes that will look a heck of a lot better than the stock end game costumes.

I hope it will be similar to LOTRO's system. I always caught folks off-guard running around in my lvl 1 hunter gear. I can totally see myself rocking the starter lalafell outfit :P

yea me too, I HATE the transmog system as you cant make having multiple cosmetic sets since you have to drain money/gear into a perma change on your current armor

I'd love this. I wish I could keep my black leather harness + cotton tights for the whole game. I actually used underleveled gear until level 20 because everything else looked so ugly. Not being able to dye unique gear is a big turnoff too.

i'd rather they didn't keep the vanity class specific. seeing a tank running around on a cowl is perfectly fine, just look at this BAMF:

i'd rather people had the freedom to customize how they looked rather than having their appearance pushed into narrowly defined "class acceptable" slots.
as for vanity in general:
i like it, i think this opens the gates for more cool equipment that the team may have a hard time putting to a class or giving stats for. this opens the road for them to show their creativity and it gives some cool new synth stuff.

I do hope we get some degree of flexibility, if only for the sake of people like that player that "cosplayed" their character to look like Meliadoul before they did the first gear revamp in 1.0.

FFT love! I used to try the same thing in 1.0 with GLA at lower levels to emulate the Squire's look.
