Hah, I think I know the darklight--I mean, which set you're talking about. Yes, it's ugly as sin.Honestly, those are the sets that I want vanity slots for most, and if they can't be vanitized (trademarking that word), I'll be hugely disappointed. The heavy iron/heavy darklight armour sets are just horrendously ugly, and awfully animated. Especially since one of those is pretty much standard endgame equipment for a long time.
What I would want is, say I have a heavy darklight armor. If I put my PLD AF body on the body vanity slot, I still have the option of putting something in the vanity slot for headgear since the PLD AF body overwrites the heavy darklight armor (which is taking up two slots). Conversely, if I wanted to use a heavy iron armor over a darklight armor, I wouldn't be able to put anything in the head slot since just like the heavy darklight armor is taking up two equipment slots, the heavy iron armor is taking up two vanity slots.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
