[Suggestion] Presets, presets, presets...and more presets!

This UI needs presets (aka configurations of something that can be saved for later use through the push of a single button).

    We need presets for:

-Action bar presets: how awesome would it be to be able to say, "Oh, I'm tanking? Better switch to my tanking preset!" or "I'm going to be punching the horns off of goats? Better switch to my preset for the ideal setup!"

-Gear presets: Again, press a button, you equip all of the gear you want to equip, including weapons.

Yes, I realize we can do this with macros, but that's a gigantic PITA and most players (ie the ones SE wants to bring back to the game) aren't going to put up with having to update every macro they have every time they get a better piece of gear or the next level of a spell.

I like how the system allows us to use any ability we like. We just need a better interface for managing it all, including saving it for later use so we can swap quickly, efficiently and easily without the need to update macros.

And yes, in before a parade of people telling me how macros are "teh hardcoar"...

You'll have to forgive me for asking, but can you clarify on exactly how this is different from a macro? Is it just the time it takes to load them up?

If I'm not mistaken, you can only do one action bar per macro. I only have one of my tanking classes above 30, and I already have 2 bars full of actions for my tank setup, not to mention putting on gear, which would be its own macro. As is, I haven't updated my macros in ages (laziness, granted), but even if I did, one button to do everything would be much nicer than four buttons and waiting for my character to flash in and out of existence for each piece of gear.

Ah, okay. I think an improved (ie, faster and more reliable) macro system would be nice. Which I guess this idea essentially is, at least on some level.

Yes Loony at the basic level it is, but there is room for much more customisation especially if SE add a UI for wardrobe changing and stat/actions allocation, Yoshi-p did mention in one of his posts that he is looking into a faster macro system specifically to swap out gear and the possibility of saving actions and stats to a specific class.

I just hope they take their time and give us something well thought out and not something rushed and clunky.
