Thanks Square-Enix, FFXIV 2.0 is amazing!

FFXIV is not FFXI and it's not WoW, it's a nice blend of all the things we like. Best of all it doesn't suck, it's got a developed storyline and it's not a pointless grindfest leading to nowhere endgame. It's unique, it's fun and it's obviously attractive to hundreds of thousands of players who desperately want to log-in. This is next level success for SE, let's be happy for them and look forward to expansion packs full of endgame content (just like their previous MMO).

For the Haters:

I understand your obsessed with the game and want to play it so bad that it makes you angry when you can't.

That being said, you might want to calm down and realize this is how MMORPG games work in the first few weeks of release. WoW crashed every day, multiple times a day and had hideous bugs for MONTHS to come.

I am sure the sales for the game will reflect that. And the retain % of subscribers will reflect management of the game. Its how 1.0 became 2.0 after-all.

Well said. Aside from Early Access, have had minimal issues logging onto the servers. The game is amazing, the gameplay even moreso, and most of all, the endgame is not so easy a caveman can do it.

I'm sure the apparent 200,000 monthly payments (above 2million USD a month) and dozens of other appreciation threads will serve them well enough.

Besides, you can appreciate Square without prodding at the people you disagree with. We have had this thread many many times. Though not as many about the servers needing to be fixed...after they told us the servers where going to be fixed.

I am having a blast so far. Some people say this game is a fail, but I bet they never even played 1.0. Now THAT was a fail even though I stuck around through it all. The game has come a long way after Yoshi took over. Keep in mind, he rebuilt a new MMO from scratch and it only took him and his team 2.5yrs. Whereas most, if not all MMO's, are in development for 4+yrs or more.

Things were far worse back then with 1.0, than they are now. right now we only have network issues pretty much and hopefully they are all fixed with today's maintenance. I'm proud to say Eorzea is my new MMO home

I bought the collectors original edition 1.0, and came back hoping to want to play it as badly as I wanted the game to be good. So far I am not disappointed. The game play is much improved, and I get lost in the worlds, enjoying the scenery, and stories with no problem. I agree, thank you SE for not scrapping this one. Now once the server issues are handled it will be flawless.
