More character roles?

I've seen that I can have more than just Dragoon as a specialty. How can I get a second job/role that allows me to synthesize or whatever? I'm only level 10, and I've been playing for 3 days, since I've only been able to log in for that amount of time. And even during the logging-in, I have to wait around for about 4 hours to even get in. Hence the extremely low level.

Anyway, any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.

once you've completed the level 10 class quest for lancer, you'll unlock permission from the guild leader to visit the other guilds, this lets you unlock the other classes and the armory system along with them.

Yo mean craft?
Go to the guilds and ask them.
I think it's after level 15 where you can go to other places and stuff.
You may unlock any craft or job at that point.

That's great. Thanks for the hasty reply. Tonight/tomorrow after the maintenance, I will continue my hunt to level up and actually play. Haha.

Just a little elaboration. After finishing your level 10 class quest, you will unlock the rest of the basic classes quests, including crafting classes and gathering quests. To actually obtain them, you'll need to visit each guild spread across the three main cities and collect them. You won't be able to actually do this until finishing a main story quest around level 15 that allows you to travel to the other two main cities.

Furthermore, there are advanced classes, I believe actually called Jobs in this game (I think), that you can start to unlock when you meet a level criteria of level 30 for a main class and 15 for a sub-class. What the two classes are depends on what you want to unlock, for example you unlock Summoner by hitting level 30 Arcanist and 15 thaumaturge. A quick google search will give you all the criteria, but I'm sure you get the point.

Just make sure you keep up with your main storyline and class stories, they are important in unlocking the rest!
