I finally reached 50 on my main and have been working on other classes now.
...
Are we simply supposed to be grinding FATES for the rest of our classes if we want to level up efficiently?

Sub classes? Who ever said GLD is the MAIN class and the rest of the classes are sub classes? I started with CNJ, so does that make your GLD the SUB class?

Btw, the hand holding when crossing the street is over, welcome to the sandbox. 1 down, 18 more to go.

Wait until you start doing endgame at lvl cap and you get NO exp.

I'll start by saying that I don't like running FATEs, especially not in big groups. However - leveling my THM I've only just hit level 16:

I have no quests to do.
I have completed 3 level 18 and 1 level 19 quests which I can't turn in.
I have been queued in the duty finder for about an hour, including having the "join party in progress" option checked.
I have cleared the second tier hunting log but haven't unlocked the third tier.
I am out of allowances but even when I get them I'll switch to my main to do the grand company quests for seals which I can't get on my level 16 character.

The only things left (while waiting for my queue to pop) are:

FATEs
Grinding non-FATE mobs

Honestly I'd feel a little guilty doing dungeons on a dps alt when so many people are having a hard time getting them done for their story quests even if I did get in (especially since I'm already geared from greed rolls running on my CNJ).

What point, when you cannot even properly to start to play the game with just one class at cap?

To stress this point even further, how many of you that rushed one of your class to 50 this past week, have obtained a relic weapon by gathering the material on your own, spiritbond and created the materia required, crafted the necessary items, and obtained the relic weapon?

^^THIS^^. Don't forget, you are playing a MMO, not a solo PC/console game. You get no reward for rushing one of your classes to cap.

i think you guys need to realize a few points.

the game is ment to get you to 50 asap, so you can experience the story and end game.

I would have them nerf FATE instead of buff everything else. You can already get to 50 within a week, and FATE is by far the easiest, most mindless activity by which to gain EXP. It should consequently give less EXP, not more.

I know I just posted but I'll say it again: My hunting log is complete for 4 levels above me and I can't start the next tier yet. I have completed side quests but can't turn them in because of level. I'm saving my leves for grand company quests for seals (I can't do those quests yet on my THM and even if I could I get more on my main for the number of allowances we're given), and because I'm leveling DPS, dungeons don't pop very often at all - and no, I wouldn't be filling party roles for people who need them for story, I'd be taking them from people who need.
