well i personally find dungeons more fun than fates, you still level quite fast with the exp bonus
Trying to collect the full green set before getting to next dungeon is kind of entertaining and will provide nice options for costume sets later on

and most importantly it lets me spend some time doing DoL between runs where fates you can't switch or all your stuff goes on cooldown too long to participate

fate xp needs to be nerfed hardcore. most boring xp ever introduced into a game, and far, far too good (there's no reason to do ANYTHING else).

Hunting logs give at most 2 levels per tier(the first tier two tiers giving almost 20, and the 3rd giving about 4 levels), so there's still 8 levels of fate grinding to do, dungeons will be hard to do since everyone will be doing fates and queues will be hours long, as well as giving 1/4 the experience of fate grinding, if not less. That leaves nothing but fates to do. I personally would like dungeon exp buffed by 50% or more, gil given out at the end of dungeons as well as seals, and traditional experience parties to come back.

Dungeons teach me how to play my class, they let me play my class, and they offer challenges. Experience parties on hard mobs teach me how to play my class, let me play my class, and offer slight challenges(needing to go faster and faster to keep chain for max exp/hour) and the ability to meet other players to run end game with. Fates don't provide an aiblity to meet new players to run end game with and make friends, don't let me play my class, offer no challenges, don't teach me how to play my class, and are just "Spam 1 button AOE/tab bio/aero/spam your ranged attack". You don't learn anything from fates and they are extremely boring in zergs. Even without zergs, a lot of the "boss" fates are just bigger beefed up normal mbos that do nothing special and can be solod/duod by tank/spank.

Agreed. There are a lot of options for leveling other classes beyond your first. If you're spamming FATEs as a way of leveling, that's your own fault.
Name 2 that give at least 75% of the exp/hour that fates do.

Leves? 3 per 12 hours, don't even give as much exp as a single fate.

Dungeons? 50% or less exp than fate grinding per hour.

Guildhests? 1/10th the exp per hour of doing fates, also just as repetitive and boring.

Mob grinding? The worst exp/hour of all.

Hunting logs? As stated, at most, 2 levels per log tier, maybe more 1-20. That's still 6-8 levels per log tier(besides first two, and the 3rd giving about 4 levels) of fate grinding.

    AGREED!

Personally I hate the duty finder system in general due to the lack of actually having meaningful interactions but if they made it give out like 50k exp at the end (for lvl ~40 anyway) it would do a lot to bring dungeons more in line with fate grinding.

geez even with all these things to do... Nobody wants to kill monsters anymore :/ they meant it to be this way. You get your main class then you will have to put some real work into your secondaries. If you dont feel like grinding then well... swiitch off. There is literally a dozen things you can do. Leves, gc leves, guildhests, hunting log, monster killing, fates, raids, boost... just to name 8~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I could walk every morning to get to work too, but guess what I drive my car! EVERYONE drives because it is the most efficient way to get there. Can you people please STOP saying go do other methods. You are missing the whole point of this thread.

One great way to effectively level is to level more then one class at a time.

Someone said they are grinding mob's just to escape the fates. Ok then why not find a crafting class you need mat's for.

Leather and cloth crafting come to mind for me. You need hides, and wool and stuff like that. Use your lo level classes to grind out the mobs that drop that stuff.

This way leveling don't seem like such a waist of time.

given that most of the exp you gain via FATE grinds is actually from the fate reward and not the killed mobs, on atls FATEs do not fully utilize the +50% bonus exp on kills.

Dungeons and grinding mobs in an area with a lot in a light party or full party (and hitting up select FATEs in the area) can actually yield as good or better exp (need to ensure the hole group is gaining exp chains by mobs being at least lv of highest level in group). Dungeons are fast and near instant queue if you use your friends and FC to fill 3 or 4 of the spots.

Fates aren't really fun atm because you do them with like 200 people. Yesterday I did a couple of lower level fates with only a handful of people and it was enjoyable again. I do not mind slow leveling for later classes or else i would be max level too fast. As long as it is enjoyable.
