I'm seeing lots of great ideas! I like that people want to see more balance among the different exp methods, and I agree with making certain quests repeatable once you change classes.
I'd also like to see a boost for the Hunt Log. All the tools are there to make this really fun. It just needs a little extra push. There are chain bonuses for killing mobs in succession, but its hardly worth it to keep going if you've completed that mob on your Hunt Log. They should increase the number of mobs you need to complete that Log entry and boost a mob's base exp. Killing a mob right now is pittance. But making it a little more worthwhile and keeping the chain going before your bonus from the Log kicks in would really make this a nice thing to do.
Then you can stop doing that at any point to go do a FATE when it pops up nearby, or take a break and go do some quests and leves, ect.
This would be amazing. Giving players multiple EFFICIENT ways to level is just what MMO's need these days. I am sure it would be tough for SE to get it just right though. I can't see them doing this. *sigh*

I think he's trying to point out that you will never make EVERYONE happy. If they nerf exp on FATEs, then the next best thing will become the solution, and you'll see a post exactly like yours up here. Asking the same questions, faulting the same things at fault, and seeking yet another alternative(which will be complained about and eventually nerfed). In the end, everything will give 1exp and nobody will be able to complain about one thing over the other.

exactly.. thank you...just in alpha/beta it was the dungeon runs that were the best xp/hr... now it turned to fates as the best xp/hr(plus GC seals)I think he's trying to point out that you will never make EVERYONE happy. People say 'leves, hunting logs, guildhest' all the time, and yet I am finding myself doing the one thing we were told would be 'ineffective' in order to level: grinding.
I have grinded out several levels on my other classes so far due to a lack of quests, leves (I come home from work, I have 6 leves.. I go to bed, get up, go to work, come home, log in.. and I have 6 more leves. Six? That's it? Really?), hunting logs (useless once you cap it out, which happens fast) and so on. Guildhest is great if you have a group for it, otherwise welcome to waiting around on duty finder. I tried that and got nowhere.
Unfortunately there is a point at which grinding becomes just totally impossible as a method of leveling.. I almost wish it were more viable a way. No, not almost.. I wish I could grind out a level in a viable way. Because I don't have two hours to sit around on duty finder waiting to run a dungeon, I may as well be out in the field doing something.
If anything makes me step away from this game, it will be that. The fact that the quests you run on one class aren't available on any other class you switch to. I really think they should be.. maybe not all of them, but at least some of them.
No leeching, No PL'ing, just 100% playing the game.
I was thinking about this as well. If they made it to where non-story quests would be repeatable once you changed classes, that would make leveling a sub so much easier. When trying to get my Pally to 50 I have been actively avoiding zone quests because when I change to a sub I want to have something available to me to help level up. FATE grinding is not an option.

yea like one day..ohh i feel like running around doing fates to level up...or then i get bored with that and feel like doing dungeons..next day grinding and leves... mix it up

Honestly, what did you expect from an Asian MMO? Not to be racist, but they've always been grindy.
Not to mention, this is a FINAL FANTASY MMO. At least the single player games I remembered playing, you grinded your ass off if you wanted to get all the characters to max level.
I'll admit, I'm floored that Yoshida's promise of being able to get to 50 just through questing is BULLSHIT. However, I don't mind that I have to grind to get other classes leveled, I expected that from this kind of game.
