I love the nuking idea but i'm trying to keep it civil lol. I don't see why my idea won't stop them in a veyr big way. give them nothing to sell.Several good points. But no idea alive will stop them save this one: Find their IP. And Nuke their House. Once one city is down people will be using peer pressure along with fear to stop them.
kk that's over extreme (I do like overpowering things that I hate with super mean power) but its as good as all the other ideas. XD Like someone mentioned and as mentioned in OP's post simply can be circumvented and thus exploited by the Sellers. SE's idea to allow us to not trade among our charas was pointless. (And I circumvented that one by having a FC and a few family members who play as well. [Insert family with trusted friends and you too can have two chara sharing most of the stuff you want to share.])
The only problem i see now is power leveling.

Hehe. Well I've... sadly have soooo wanted to find the harrasing RMT tell sending fiend RL place of living and destroying it so well that people would be too scared to at least send me another... It got really bad in WoW...*Shudders* before they just allowed me single click blisting/reporting.
Actually making so gil cannot be traded at least not without selling anything is a fair idea. No one can trade seals so those aren't being sold by the RMT peeps. The problem stems from the buy and selling in game.
The markets are exploitable this way. I think... I remember in FFXI that it wasn't possible to know who was selling what, but I cannot recall if names are listed in the Markets. (See! I don't buy anything... I get (via quests/Leve/Dungeon) or make everything I need XD)
