I had to heal a three-people Toto-Rak run (with the goddamn poison!) as an arcanist because the healer dropped on us before the first boss ...except it wasn't a horror story at all. The other two actually knew what they were doing, and it went without a hitch.

Made me realize all over again the ineptness of the people you usually party with at that level.

Just had to tell....I am levellling my Thurma to get Swiftcast...enter Halitali as Thurma...Tank withdraws..one DPS leaves, CNJ leaves....i wait...another DPS joins...Tank joins...we wait...no CNJ....i say; "I can Cure and Protect."
So my nightmare was being Healer, as a lv22 Thurma, with only CureI..and no MIND points allocated! Haha!

I had to heal as THM lv20 in the lv20 "Pulling poison posies" guildhest with Physick XD

Was doing a Tam-Tara run with a friend (Pugilist) when I was level 16, but the tank was awful. Couldn't hold aggro to save his life. Two pulls before the final boss, I've had enough and I told the tank he had to hold aggro otherwise I'd tank as a Conjurer. He told me: "Can't wait to see that."

I carried his n00b ass while he stayed behind and did nothing. He stayed outside of the final boss area and I tanked/healed like a boss while my friend and the Thaumaturge had really good dps.

Tank aggroes lots of mobs, runs straight to a boss and dies in 2 seconds along with the rest of the group.

Not really a healing story but I did Halatali on my alt character 2 days ago. I am training up an ACN for SMN. After waiting for about 40 mins for a party, I finally get in. The tank and conjurer were decent but the lancer was a complete nightmare. Stood in bombs, pulled mobs before we were ready, ignored the small flame adds for the first boss and stood in the water throughout the second boss till we decided to just leave him dead. It's an easy dungeon though, so we made it to the last boss relatively easily.

At the last boss, once again the lancer pulls the boss before the tank is even ready. He ran out of the room after the tank got aggro off of him and got locked out. Not a big deal since he was pretty much useless for most battles anyway. When the small flames spawned, the tank and the healer went to dps them down because there was no way I could handle them myself. Unfortunately, the healer got so engrossed with taking them down that she neglected to heal us. I kept myself up on health but both the tank and healer went down leaving me alone with the boss. Instead of just wiping it, I decided to see how far I could go. I quickly summoned my yellow carby and solo-ed the boss. I ended up being healer and dps with carby tanking. Was awesome and a complete horror at the same time.

Dzemael Darkhold run, Warrior tank. Second pull he stays in the hallway away from crystals. He never uses Overpower or Flash the whole time we're in the dungeon. I pull aggro, take them to tank, he ignores them and I have to keep kiting/regen. All-seeing eye splatters over us and we wipe.

Round two, we make it to the crystals this time, then the room with a ton of mobs. He pulls the entire room. I start chain healing/Repose/Regen and "Omg, maybe we'll make it through this..." but 2 Summoners (!) and I start yanking aggro off him again, we wipe.

I ask him to use more aggro builders, he responds. "Never died here before. Heals are shit."

I dropped from the dungeon and was in a funk the rest of the day. How did he get to 44!?

Ifrit Hard Mode:

We ended up loosing a healer and this is when Ifrit is 25 percent health left. Stun Tank died too seconds after. All leading to everyone loosing a lot of health and me medica II spamming.
I wanted to raise the other healer but mp was already low and tank was pretty close to dying.

After it was just the tank and I left, he helped stun and BARELY got the limit break to 3.

I casted the spell for full revive limit break and the tank died during it but in the end the party got revived and we won @w @

Horror story and an awesome story at the same time.

LOL I think everyone has had a bad Darkhold story, such a fun dungeon. I don't have many real horror stories, the most recent was basically solo healing Garuda hard mode as a Scholar in AK gear with primal book. White mage healer took an early dive, I res'd and they died again soon after. I don't know how I managed to heal it in crap gear and not skipping any phases. Either way a very stressful run especially those,"hmm I just ran out of lustrate and swifcast" moments.

- Healing Titan as SCH with WHM support (or main heal, whichever sounds nicer)
- Warrior tank
- WHM dies at 60%

Every time Mountain Buster came up I said to myself, "This is where he dies."

Fortunately, Warrior tank was good and he lived. Any other Warrior would have become a pile of stones.

Yesterday I ran into a scholar during an AK run as a bard; at first I assumed they were a white mage and didn't look at their icon because I kept being "cure"'d whenever I needed a heal and never saw them pop adloquium. It was only later I noticed they had a fairy.

<After a few wipes at wall>
"Why're you using cure, physick is just as potent"
"Cure's better"
"It really isn't. Also, you should cover them with adloquium before you waste time mashing your heal"
"Adloquium's rubbish, it heals for less"
"At the very least you should probably use Eos and set her to steady so she doesn't keep blowing cooldowns at the start of every pull and drawing aggro"
"What do you know about healing, healing's much harder than DPS"

Le sigh... sometimes, it really is the healer's fault. At least they seemed to pay attention to what I said about cure vs physick as they started using physick after that, even if they never used adloquium
