A tank who said, "I am only leveling Marauder so I can wear Odin armor in the cities", in response to me asking why he didn't have Warrior during Darkhold. He had the exact same health as our dragoon who couldn't help but pull on the final boss since our tank didn't have a tanking ability.

Doing roulettes each day seems to be helping me as a healer.. and providing endless "omgwtfahhhhh D:!!" moments. Which hey, helps practice panicked healing?

I got into Qarn Normal last night with a sorta squishy tank (one level under sync) that was maybe sorta new to tanking but doing fairly okay (dps complained about her moving the last boss too much, but she knew mechanics for everything, I think). The second boss however..

First go at it, she didn't notice her doom debuff partway through and died.. no swiftcast on me, but I got her up without anyone dying (Eos kept the dps alive). Two procs later, I derped hard.. black mage and I both ran over glowing circle, I saw a debuff go off but didn't check to see if it was mine, and poof, I died. Wipe right after. I apologized and we went again.

Second time, again, tank misses the debuff partway through the fight and falls. I'm able to pull off another slow res and am working on healing back up the party (adds came out).. this time, both the tank and ninja don't notice the debuff and die. Spike damage on blackmage is too high for me to feel comfortable resing, but I decide to see if we can just duo it. Having fewer people to heal, I go into cleric to keep DoTs on boss, then back out to make sure black mage always has an adlo shield on. We get it to 5-10% or so (he already used lb at some point) and spike damage takes him out.

I realllllly didn't want to try a third go, so I adlo up, pop cleric, and try to kite-DoT boss down. Of course, another wave of adds come out.. they start chewing on Eos which buys me some time, and of course she doesn't last long.. boss smacks me hard and I don't really have time to heal.. DoTs are pretty much out of time on boss..

My last desperate energy drain killed the boss. What a rush. D:

I started a WHM alt a couple weeks ago to re-train my healing instincts and to get used to gamepad play. I think I've only been a horror story myself a couple of times, fumbling with CS and switching bars. Only gotten a small handful of tanks killed so far. d(^.^)b

This story isn't really that bad, it's just the worst I've had so far. Got into Cutter's Cry with a PLD, a NIN, and a BLM. For the first couple of pulls, the NIN pulled hate pretty early. One of those pulls, he pulled for the tank, so I immediately chalked it up to irresponsible DPS, got into prima donna mode, and let him get down to two digit HP before healing him.

Then, on the very next pull, I got threat. And the next, and the next. Which is when I realized the tank (who had Shield Oath up, at least) was only using Flash once per pull. Had to start holding back a lot; using Stoneskin almost primarily, letting him dip pretty low, avoiding all DPS except a single Aero on his primary target. That only worked about half the time, though, because the other half, he'd keep one enemy in front of him and two behind him. :| So every other trash pack, I was pretty much guaranteed to get smacked at least a couple of times.

The PLD was also new to the dungeon. The first couple bosses were fine, as they're pretty simple. Chimera, though... Told him to run in on purple, out on blue, and avoid the glowy balls and the usual AOE markers. His interpretation of that advice was to spin and drag the boss all over the place like some kind of spastic ballroom dance. Luckily the melee was a NIN. For the first half of the fight, he managed to get the eye prompts right, but then he fell hard and started eating pretty much every one. With the way he was spazzing around the room, the DPS ended up eating a few, too. Luckily, the BLM was on the ball and not afraid of Physick (<3), so we still ended up with a win. But it was, uh... a good lesson.

That just happened to me last night.. except it took an hour to get to chimera, and after 20 minutes, everyone bailed. The DPS sadly were just as new/confused as the tank.. and I can't heal a million DoTs and AoE blasts. It was especially depressing since I play for a limited amount of time a day, and it was a bit of a stressful evening before I logged on.. killed all desire to do my dailies. To add to the horror, after one of our wipes, I wasn't able to buff the ninja.. kept getting aetherial interference when I tried. He had to relog..

Whelp. This was a thing. *FLIPS TABLE x 100*

FC wanted to do Garuda EX (/panic - it's been a while since I'd done it).
Did pretty good - then had a few wipes - some good tries and some wtfs (I admit I hadn't been paying attention that I had spiny stacks on me - hence what felt like a random death...) not that I could do anything to begin with, when I'm trapped at one corner of the whirlwinds with it). I was able to make use of marking, too!
Motion to abandoned failed numerous times after the last wipe.
No one wants to do anything and the people that want to leave so bad don't want to leave due to penalty - due to <insert insults on players about play abilities, of course>
So we'd been sitting there. Staring at this thing.
I'm not the one that wants to leave, so there I am (and no other vote abandons after that, either).

If they wanted out so damn badly, take the penalty for 30 mins. Considering we'd been sitting there for 30 as is...

I wish people would just friggin man up and keep trying. First ever run I had a while back had damn awesome people for it.
It's one thing if your gear was about to break or you needed to leave for some reason... but none of this "we didn't win it so easy, now I wanna leave" shit. It's getting annoying as all hell, now, since everyone keeps doing that lately, at the drop of a hat.
Want out that bad, just take it. Not like we were all that productive this way, anyway.

On the upside, the other healer and I had a silent convo via emots while waiting out the timer. That was fun. If I could, I'd give a commendation to the healer for that - and for raising my sorry ass

Edit: LOL cleared it in another party, right after, with not much muss.

Im not a healer so why am I here?!

Anyway, the other day, I was lvling my BLM at Coerthas, yes BLM is not a healer but meh...
As a BLM I noticed I can cross-class Psysick, and since I have nothing else to cross-class I say meh :U

So, I was at Coerthas, and then popped the oh-you-again-FATE of "The Eyes Have It"... I think you know where this is going?
I go, and find it that ppl are actually going for it, so I jump in and start burning it with fire!! But after 2 rotations I notice that the solo tank taking it head on is not being healed or supported in any way... so I jump into my ice rotation and what gives! I throw some heals at him...

Everything fine at the beginning, we werent that many anyway, but then it did its yolospinoflolololwipes and nuked all the FATE striken people, like always. Fortunately the tank survived, so I start healing it again, and then again, and then again, and then I can't find a moment to DPS since Im too focused on healing!!! Thats when I notice that there are actually healers around, but they all were too focused on DPSing, *facepalm*

So then I yell "Could some actual healer please go ahead and heal the tank?! This is tough for a BLM!" Of course no one paid me any hail. Eventually Tank died, yoloswiped the so called healers and it came my way, for what I said "LOLnopenopenope" and walked away from the FATE circle like a sir and let it reset.

Im a BLM who is loyal to his THM ways of runing away :v

    LOL X'D I remember I did that fate once with my blm as well. A few people huddled around and started, but the aggro kept switching between me and a ninja. The aggro officially locked onto me, so I ran around the outer edge of the fate circle hoping that some tank or dps could take it off me, but I ended up running around the whole time... had to rely on the boss stopping to do his swipe attacks/scathe/swiftcast so that I could land an attack on him or heal myself @_@;

Pro tip, on boss FATEs, if they are targeting you and there is someone else fighting it already, run out of the FATE, it will lose track of you and go for the next target with highest agro :v resseting yours v:

Dragged into ST...all tanks ignore trash. This wasn't expected, so naturally our BLMs and WHMs (myself included) are lighting the trash up with Flares and Holies. By the time the opening salvo is done, it becomes obvious that aggro is going to the DPS and then to the healers as we attempt to recover the poor, dying DPS.

By the time any tank decides to take control, 75% of the raid (including most of the healers) are dead, and this is only the first trash pull.

PLD MT declares that DPS "should know better than to AoE in ST."

...killed by healing aggro from trash mobs in a faceroll dungeon because tanks couldn't find the Flash or Overpower keybinds and then that...my head asploded. Even Shroud wasn't gonna fix that.
