Controller Question

Dunno if this is the proper section but I'll ask anyway!

Anyone know if there is a way to completely disable target locking with the analog stick? I've gotten killed a couple of times when trying to move out of a boss' attack and instead I end up locking on and back-pedaling.

I'm also somewhat curious as to what the purpose of target locking is cause it feels like I'm turning on "keyboard turning". >_>

If you're just talking about having it off all the time, there is an option under one of the configurations (character, i think). Under the target section you should be able to turn it to be off by default. But if you are talking about it being off all the time and not being able to accidently lock on to something by pressing L3, I don't think that's an option. It's either "On" with the ability to unlock, or "Off" with the ability to lock. No "Off all the time no matter what I click". Just hit your L3 when you need to unlock and run.
Also, target locking is there so that your target is always on your screen, so that you don't miss some one-shot attack or something of that nature by turning your camera away (on purpose or by accident).
Edit: If the last option above is what you are looking for, you could always try finding a controller without the analog stick push-down buttons (good luck with that), or you could take your controller apart and remove that button (I really don't advise this).

Thanks for the reply! I was really hoping I could turn it off for good. I guess I'll just have to deal with the occasional annoyance.
